Kinetic Games’ original Phasmophobia 2025 roadmap outlined Chronicle, a character overhaul, a small new map, three map reworks and seasonal events. It was a provisional development plan, not a guarantee of release dates or content. In a later revision published in June 2026, the studio moved Phasmophobia 1.0 and the next new map to 2027.
What Kinetic Games planned for Phasmophobia in 2025
The roadmap grouped its plans around investigation tools, player characters, maps and seasonal events. Kinetic Games cautioned that the work was still in development and could change.

Chronicle: a new way to record investigations
Chronicle was presented as the first planned major update of 2025. It was intended to expand how players documented evidence: the Journal would receive a Media tab for photos, videos and recordings made with a new in-game Sound Recorder. The studio had previewed the broader media system in its earlier Development Preview #18, saying the 2025 overhaul would affect every contract.
Character models and animations
A second major update was set to refresh player-character models and animations and adjust the character experience. Full player customization was not part of this update; the roadmap separated it into a planned 2026 update so the team could focus on Horror 2.0.

A small new map
Kinetic Games planned one new map for 2025, described as small—comparable in size to the game’s houses—and set in a location unlike those already available. The studio said it intended to keep future maps relatively small to support more regular releases.
Three map reworks
The named rework targets were Bleasdale Farmhouse, Grafton Farmhouse and 6 Tanglewood Drive. Bleasdale was initially expected in March, while Grafton and Tanglewood were described as later 2025 releases.

Seasonal events
The plan called for a new take on Easter, followed by the return of the Blood Moon theme for Halloween and Winter’s Jest for the holiday period. These events were expected to include personal rewards and a rotating selection of maps.
How the schedule changed after the 2025 roadmap
The original announcement also looked ahead to Horror 2.0, new maps and further reworks in 2026. That was an outlook from the earlier roadmap, not the current schedule. In its June 2026 roadmap revision, Kinetic Games said Phasmophobia 1.0 and the next new map would launch in 2027.

For 2026, the revised outline included a rework of 13 Willow Street, quality-of-life updates, a Unity 6 upgrade, another character update and additional content. The studio’s revision therefore changes the forward-looking timing; it does not turn the earlier 2025 roadmap into a firm record of what was delivered.

The roadmap is useful as a record of what Kinetic Games intended to work on at the time, but its dates and items should be understood as plans subject to change. The studio explicitly said, “Everything we share today is still in development, so things can of course change.” The later 2026 announcement is the relevant source for the revised timing of 1.0 and the next map.
