Pixelpaw Phase is a proposed gaming mouse that separates into two pieces to work as a game controller. The optional Phasegrip accessory joins those halves around a smartphone for mobile play. Pixelpaw’s published plans point to shipping in December 2026–January 2027, but the product is not yet established as generally available: the company says certification and pilot production are still upcoming and its launch path is being finalized.
How Pixelpaw Phase works
In mouse mode, the two units connect to form a single device. Separate them and they become a two-part controller, with inputs that Pixelpaw says can be customized. Phasegrip is a separate, optional attachment designed to hold a smartphone between the halves; it is also offered in the company’s advertised bundle.
Pixelpaw founder Sharath describes the idea as reducing the need to carry separate devices for different game genres. That is the company’s stated motivation, not evidence that Phase matches the comfort or performance of dedicated peripherals.

Compatibility claims do not by themselves establish that every game, platform, or control scheme will work as expected. Pixelpaw’s product page does not provide independent validation of these figures.
What to consider before replacing separate peripherals
Mouse use and scrolling
Phase does not use a conventional scroll wheel: Pixelpaw specifies a capacitive touch surface for scrolling. That may suit some workflows, but how reliably it handles quick scrolling or in-game actions remains an open usability question. ABIT specifically flags touch scrolling in fast-paced games as something to assess.

Controller comfort and game support
A convertible design is useful only if both halves feel comfortable during longer sessions and their layout works for the games you play. The available coverage raises the question of whether a hybrid can compete with dedicated peripherals; it does not establish comparative comfort, performance, or compatibility through hands-on testing.
Convenience versus dedicated gear
The central trade-off is carrying one convertible device instead of a separate mouse and controller. Consider whether that space saving matters more to you than choosing a mouse with a conventional wheel and a controller with a familiar layout. Wireless switching, battery life, and the phone attachment may also matter, but the published figures are company claims rather than independent results.

Price, reservation, and planned availability
On its preorder page, Pixelpaw advertises a refundable $20 reservation and a 15% early-bird discount, with approximate prices of $115 for Phase and $140 for a Phase plus Phasegrip bundle. The page says the reservation secures launch pricing. These are advertised terms and approximate prices, not confirmation of a finalized retail launch or delivery.
As of October 8, 2026, Pixelpaw says development is complete but certification and pilot production are still ahead. Its timeline forecasts pilot production in October 2026, mass production in November 2026, and shipping in December 2026–January 2027. The company also says its launch path is still being finalized, including discussions about financing and investment. Treat the timeline as a forecast, not confirmation that production or shipment has occurred. Verify the final price, launch route, refund terms, delivery terms, and warranty before paying. No Amazon listing has been established.
