Many A True Nerd turned Fallout: New Vegas into Choose Your Own Apocalypse, a creator-made YouTube story where viewers choose a route and follow links to the next clip. It is a video adaptation, not a separate official game release. The project was covered in April 2016; whether its original links still work in 2026 is unclear.
How the YouTube adventure works
Instead of exploring the Mojave in a game, viewers watch short, connected videos and make decisions at story junctions. Contemporary coverage described clips ranging from roughly 30 seconds to a few minutes, with each choice sending the viewer to another part of the narrative. That duration is a 2016 description, not a guarantee about how the videos are presented today.

Many A True Nerd described the project as an interactive novel played entirely within YouTube: “Make your choices, pick your allies, select the best approach, and maybe you’ll make it all the way to New Vegas…”
What happens at the first choice
The opening decision is described as choosing between heading toward Nipton via Primm or heading toward Vegas via Sloan. The series presents these as different narrative routes through the game’s world; it is not a full route guide to the original game’s open-ended map.
#1 Best Overall
- Beyond the Wasteland: The world of New Vegas is more expansive than ever. Each new distinct area presents a fresh set of branching-quests, remarkable personalities and more chances to play the Savior or the Pariah to the natives of New Vegas.
- Dead Money: Lured into a trap masquerading as the Sierra Madre Casino, you are thrown into a high stakes game where you'll have to work with three other lost souls if you want to survive.
- Honest Hearts: An expedition into Utah's Zion National Park goes horribly wrong and you become embroiled in a war between tribes and put into a conflict between a New Canaanite missionary and the mysterious Burning Man.
- Old World Blues: Transported to the Big MT research crater, you are enlisted by the Think Tank to save them from their own science experiments that have gone horribly out of control.
- Lonesome Road: Ulysses, the original Courier Six, contacts you and promises to answer why he refused to deliver the Platinum Chip at the start of Fallout: New Vegas, but only if you make one last journey into the treacherous canyons of the Divide.
PCGamesN characterized the adaptation as using artistic license to shape a narrative from the original game’s more granular sandbox. Expect a directed, compressed story rather than the freedom to roam, quest, and make choices throughout the game itself.
How to navigate it—and what may have changed
At launch, GameSpot and Gameranx recommended watching on desktop because the choices were presented using YouTube annotations. Gameranx also reported that Many A True Nerd included choices in video descriptions for tablet and phone viewers.

- Feel the Heat in New Vegas: Not even nuclear fallout could slow the hustle of Sin City. Explore the vast expanses of the desert wastelands from the small towns dotting the Mojave Wasteland to the bright lights of the New Vegas strip
- Feuding Factions, Colorful Characters and a Host of Hostiles : A war is brewing between rival factions with consequences that will change the lives of all the inhabitants of New Vegas
- New Systems : Enjoy new additions to Fallout: Special melee combat moves have been added to bring new meaning to the phrase "up close and personal"
- An Arsenal of Shiny New Guns : With double the amount of weapons found in Fallout 3, you'll have more than enough new and exciting ways to deal with the threats of the wasteland and the locals
- Let it Ride : In a huge, open world with unlimited options you can see the sights, choose sides, or go it alone. Peacemaker or Hard Case, House Rules, or the Wild Card, it's all in how you play the game
Those reports date to April 18, 2016. They explain how the series was intended to work then, but do not establish whether the old annotation links still function or whether the complete experience remains navigable on mobile in 2026. If you find the videos, check for links in both the player and each description; if a link is missing or broken, the intended route may be difficult to follow.

No purchase of the original game is presented as necessary to follow the YouTube adaptation. Fallout: New Vegas is a separate PC game developed by Obsidian Entertainment and published by Bethesda Softworks; Steam lists its original release date as October 20, 2010. The YouTube project is a creator-made interpretation of its premise and story, not an official new game release.
