What is the Spider-Man multiplayer mod?
The Spider-Man Multiplayer group has made a community mod that turns the PC version of Marvel’s Spider-Man into a multiplayer experience. It is separate from an official game or feature released by Insomniac Games or Marvel. Insider Gaming’s Tom Henderson reported the mod’s release on August 28, 2025, noting that gameplay was circulating on X.

Why is the mod getting attention?
Insider Gaming reported that the group’s Discord had more than 11,000 members, including over 2,000 active members, at the time of its August 2025 article. Those figures describe the community then; they do not establish its present size or activity.

The mod also taps into interest in a multiplayer Spider-Man experience following reports about Spider-Man: The Great Web. Insider Gaming said that project had been canceled before March 2024 and became known through materials exposed in a studio data breach. An official cancellation statement was not located, so this context should be understood as reporting rather than an official announcement. The article also attributed a figure of more than 50 million copies sold as of February 2024 to Insomniac Games; that attribution was not independently confirmed here.
How can you access it?
Insider Gaming reported in August 2025 that access was limited to supporters of the group’s Patreon, with a tier listed at £8 plus VAT per month—approximately £9.60 at the time. That is a historical price, not a verified current offer. The developer’s Patreon page identifies hbgda as the main developer and describes early access to the multiplayer mod and future projects, but does not establish current pricing or detailed access terms. What PC setup does it need?
The mod is described as a PC mod for Marvel’s Spider-Man. Insomniac’s official page describes Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered on PC as developed in collaboration with Marvel and optimized for PC by Nixxes Software.
