PlayStation Plus members could add Lords of the Fallen, Tomb Raider I-III Remastered and Sword Art Online Fractured Daydream to their libraries from April 7 through May 4, 2026. That claim window has closed. The catch behind calling them “free” is that access through the Monthly Games benefit depends on an active PlayStation Plus membership.
Which games were in the April 2026 PlayStation Plus lineup?
Sony announced three Monthly Games on April 1, 2026. Its descriptions offer a quick sense of what each game brings:

- Lords of the Fallen: an action adventure set across interconnected realms of the living and dead. Sony cited nine character classes and hundreds of weapons.
- Tomb Raider I-III Remastered: the first three Tomb Raider adventures, with expansions and secret levels. The collection includes upgraded graphics, an option to switch to the original polygon look, Challenge Mode and ten unlockable outfits.
- Sword Art Online Fractured Daydream: a co-op action game featuring 21 characters and multiplayer teams of up to 20 players.

When could members claim the games?
The official claim period ran from Tuesday, April 7 through Monday, May 4, 2026. It is over, so these titles are no longer claimable as that month’s offer. Sony says Monthly Games lineups may vary by region; check your local PlayStation Store for regional availability and current offers.

April 6 was the final day to add the previous month’s games: PGA Tour 2K25, Monster Hunter Rise, Slime Rancher 2 and The Elder Scrolls Online Collection: Gold Road. Sony’s April 1 announcement lists those dates and titles alongside the April lineup.
What is the catch with “free” PlayStation Plus games?
“Free” meant no extra charge for eligible members during the claim period—not a permanent purchase independent of the subscription. Sony defines Monthly Games as games members can download and play at no extra cost during their membership. Its support guidance says access to Monthly Games obtained through the benefit ends when the PlayStation Plus membership ends.

The April Monthly Games were a three-title benefit with a specific claim window. Sony separately announced the Extra and Premium Game Catalog lineup on April 15, with games available beginning April 21. That catalog included The Crew Motorfest, Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, Football Manager 26 Console, Warriors: Abyss, Squirrel with a Gun, The Casting of Frank Stone, Monster Train and, for Premium, Wild Arms 4.

The distinction matters: Monthly Games are added to a member’s library during the claim period and require an active membership for access. The Game Catalog is a separate tier-based selection, and games can leave the service. Sony also notes that catalog lineups can differ by region. See its April Game Catalog announcement.
