They became available to PlayStation Plus members on May 7, 2024, but the claim windows have since ended.
Which games were in the May 2024 PlayStation Plus lineup?
| Game | Platforms listed by Sony | Availability window announced by Sony |
|---|---|---|
| EA Sports FC 24 Standard Edition | PS4, PS5 | May 7–June 17, 2024 |
| Ghostrunner 2 | PS5 | May 7–June 3, 2024 |
| Tunic | PS4, PS5 | May 7–June 3, 2024 |
| Destiny 2: Lightfall | PS4, PS5 | May 7–June 3, 2024 |
Sony’s May 1, 2024 announcement called these the PlayStation Plus Monthly Games and said they would be available to PlayStation Plus members. It did not explicitly name the Essential tier in the announcement text, so “Essential” is a common way to frame the reader question, not a tier label confirmed there.

What each game offered
EA Sports FC 24
Sony listed the Standard Edition for PS4 and PS5 and described it as a football game featuring licensed players, teams and leagues. Its announcement highlighted HyperMotionV, PlayStyles optimized by Opta and Frostbite technology. Sony also announced a separate PlayStation Plus Football Ultimate Team Starter Pack, including 11 untradeable players rated 82 or above and a seven-game ICON Loan Player Pick. Those pack details described the bonus announced alongside the game, not a change to the game’s claim window.
Ghostrunner 2
The PS5-only entry was a first-person action sequel in a post-apocalyptic cyberpunk setting. Sony highlighted one-hit-kill combat, non-linear levels, motorbike sections and new modes.

Tunic
Available for PS4 and PS5, Tunic is an isometric adventure built around exploration and combat. Sony’s description also pointed to hidden techniques and manual pages players collect as they explore.
Destiny 2: Lightfall
The PS4 and PS5 listing was for the Lightfall expansion, which takes Guardians to Neptune and introduces the Strand subclass. Sony stated that the base game, Destiny 2, is required to play the expansion and can be downloaded from PlayStation Store at no extra cost.

What the dates mean now
The May 2024 claim period is over. Ghostrunner 2, Tunic and Destiny 2: Lightfall were available through June 3, 2024; EA Sports FC 24 was available through June 17, 2024. These are historical dates, not current access or availability information. Sony’s post also said members had through May 6, 2024 to add April’s Immortals of Aveum, Minecraft Legends and Skul: The Hero Slayer.
Sony advised members to check the PlayStation Store for their region because PlayStation Plus Game Catalog lineups may differ by region. For the May Monthly Games, the source announcement gives the titles, platforms and dates above; it does not establish current store listings.
