Sony ended new campaigns and additional rewards after July 23, 2025, and says the current program will end November 2, 2026. Sony’s current guidance does not identify a Stars-specific outage or promise a fix for individual tracking problems.
Why PlayStation Stars may not be updating
There are two different issues that can look like a tracking failure: an account may not be eligible to use Stars, or the expected campaign may no longer be active. Sony’s official FAQ and shutdown announcement establish the program’s access rules and dates; neither names a current Stars tracking incident.

- Campaign progress: PlayStation says new campaigns, additional rewards, and status benefits ended after July 23, 2025. A campaign that no longer advances after that date may simply no longer be available.
- Points or access: Account eligibility and acceptance of the updated terms affect participation and access to unexpired points.
- Service issue: A general PlayStation service-status notice is not evidence of a Stars problem unless it specifically names Stars.
Check whether your account can still use Stars
PlayStation stopped accepting new members on May 21, 2025. Before the program ends, access is limited to people who joined before that cutoff, accepted the updated Terms of Service effective October 24, 2024, and did not cancel their membership. See PlayStation Stars FAQ for Sony’s current eligibility information.
If you joined before May 21, 2025 but have not accepted the updated terms, Sony says you can accept them in PS App before November 2, 2026. Doing so can restore access to active parts of the program and to points that have not expired; it does not make ended campaigns available again.

Check your points balance in PS App
- Open PS App and go to Player Profile > PlayStation Stars to view your points balance.
- Open the Rewards Catalog to check what is currently available to redeem.
- Review Sony’s points-expiration terms if a balance is lower than expected; points do not remain available indefinitely.
These checks help distinguish a balance or access issue from a campaign display that is no longer active. Sony does not document a guaranteed account-level repair procedure for Stars tracking problems.
What the shutdown dates mean

Sony announced the wind-down in May 2025. Grace Chen, Sony Interactive Entertainment’s Vice President, Network Advertising, Loyalty & Licensed Merchandise, wrote: “Through this evaluation, we have decided to refocus our efforts and will be winding down the current version of PlayStation Stars.” Read the PlayStation announcement.

Is there a confirmed PlayStation Stars outage?
No Stars-specific incident is identified in the official information available here. On October 8, 2026, PlayStation’s surfaced service-status notice concerned an account-management web create-account issue; it did not name Stars tracking. Check the PlayStation service status page for current notices, but do not assume a general account-service alert explains a particular Stars problem.

If you meet the eligibility requirements, have accepted the updated terms, and still cannot see your Stars balance or access the Stars area in PS App, contact PlayStation Support with your account details and a concise description of what is missing. Include whether the problem concerns points, an active reward, or campaign progress, and when you last saw it update. The available official information does not establish a universal cause or guaranteed outcome for an individual account.
