Sony’s June 4, 2025 State of Play paired a release date for Silent Hill f with the reveal of Final Fantasy Tactics – The Ivalice Chronicles, an enhanced return of the 1997 strategy RPG. The 40-plus-minute broadcast also covered upcoming games, PlayStation Plus catalog additions and two hardware announcements. When and where to watch the June 2025 State of Play
Sony scheduled the broadcast for June 4, 2025, at 2 p.m. PT, 5 p.m. ET and 11 p.m. CEST; the event notice listed it as June 5 at 6 a.m. JST. It was billed as a 40-plus-minute show on YouTube and Twitch. Sony’s event notice also advised creators saving or reposting the broadcast to omit copyrighted music.
The headline announcements
Silent Hill f set a September 2025 date
Silent Hill f was announced for PS5 on September 25, 2025. Sony described the game as a standalone spinoff centered on Shimizu Hinako and her hometown, which is engulfed by fog. The announcement made it a new entry point to the series rather than a numbered sequel.
Final Fantasy Tactics – The Ivalice Chronicles brings back the strategy RPG
Square Enix’s Final Fantasy Tactics – The Ivalice Chronicles was announced for PS5 and PS4 on September 30, 2025. The enhanced version was described as adding fully voiced dialogue, an updated UI, graphical improvements and quality-of-life features. Square Enix also discussed a Squire difficulty setting in a companion post.

Project Defiant
Project Defiant was introduced as PlayStation’s first wireless fight stick. Sony said it would support wireless play through PlayStation Link or a wired connection to PS5 and PC; its launch was planned for the following year, meaning 2026 in the event context.

Astro Bot Limited Edition DualSense
Sony also announced an updated smiley version of the Astro Bot Limited Edition DualSense wireless controller, planned for later in 2025. The recap establishes the announcement and intended window, not its current price, stock or availability.
