Poeltl is a daily browser game in which you try to identify a mystery NBA player in eight guesses. You can reveal a silhouette, and each guess returns attribute clues—such as team, position, height, age, and jersey number—to help narrow down the answer.
How to play Poeltl

What the clues tell you
After a guess, Poeltl indicates whether that player shares characteristics with the mystery player. The listed clue categories are:

Treat the feedback as a process of elimination: compare the returned attributes with what you know about NBA players, then choose a guess that tests a useful possibility. The silhouette offers a separate visual hint, but the game’s core loop is entering names and interpreting attribute feedback.
What is Poeltl?
Poeltl is a daily online NBA player guessing game. Its objective is to identify the mystery player for the day. The NBPA’s official relaunch announcement says the game was first launched in February 2022 by founder Gabe Danon and named after NBA player Jakob Poeltl.
Who is behind the game?
In an announcement dated February 8, 2024, the National Basketball Players Association said Danon would collaborate with the association on the game’s creative operations, and that Jakob Poeltl would serve as co-owner and ambassador. These are statements about the relaunch arrangement at that time; the announcement alone does not establish the current ownership arrangement.

Age terms
The game’s terms identify Puzzle Duck, LLC as the service provider and state that users must be at least 13 years old. They also say that users without legal capacity need agreement from a legal guardian or another person legally responsible for them. The terms page says it was last updated February 5, 2024; consult the current terms for the wording that applies when you play.
