As of the latest specific update located, reported by GBAtemp on May 25, 2026, the GBA-format demake was in development, with no release estimate.
What Pokémon Alola Seaglass is
Pokémon Alola Seaglass—called Alolan Seaglass in GBAtemp’s reporting—is described as a fan-made demake of the 2016 Pokémon Sun and Moon games, intended for GBA format and drawing on the style of the earlier Pokémon Emerald Seaglass project. GBAtemp first reported the project’s announcement in February 2026, alongside Pokémon Lazarus v2.0. Read the announcement report.

It is a fan-made ROM hack, not a verified new official Pokémon release. The sources describing the project do not establish that it is licensed by Pokémon’s rights holders.
What is known about its development and release
GBAtemp reported on May 25, 2026 that the project’s first screenshots had appeared and quoted creator Nemo622’s update: “Pokemon Alolan Seaglass is officially in development! I do not have a release estimate yet, but it’s going well. Thank you for your patience! My Master’s program has been super busy, but I promise I haven’t forgotten about Rom Hacking. I’ll have more updates soon!!” Read the May 25 update report.
#1 Best Overall
- Shape the world and build a cozy new life with Pokémon as a Ditto transformed to look like a human.
- Use other Pokémon’s moves, like Bulbasaur’s Leafage, to revitalize and navigate the world around you.
- Meet and befriend more Pokémon as you help nature flourish.
- Gather materials to create items and furniture, till the fields to grow delicious crops, build homes for the Pokémon you meet, and more—there’s so much to do!
- Experience a world with varied weather, real-time days and nights, and other surprises.
That is the latest specific status established by these sources, not confirmation that development remains unchanged in October 2026. Neither the February announcement nor the May report gave a release date or estimate. The sources also establish no download figures, audience size, progress percentage, or comparative rating.

The concept has a clear point of appeal: a fan-made reworking of Sun and Moon in a GBA format, with a style associated with Emerald Seaglass. The earlier project’s creator and credits page identifies Nemo622 as its creator and lists contributors, offering background on that project—not confirmation of Alola Seaglass’s features or development details. See Emerald Seaglass’s creator and credits page.

But the headline’s “could be” matters. The sources describe an announced project, not a released, playable Alola Seaglass with reviews or head-to-head comparisons. One Reddit participant expressed excitement after Nemo’s announcement, which shows individual anticipation, not broad demand or evidence of the game’s quality. See the community discussion.
