Pokémon Champions is available now. The Nintendo Switch version launched on April 8, 2026, and the iOS and Android version followed on June 17, 2026. Players on mobile can battle players on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.
When did Pokémon Champions come out?
The Pokémon Company first announced an April 2026 release window for the Nintendo Switch version on February 27, then confirmed the launch date as Wednesday, April 8, in a March 24 announcement. The game is now available, according to the official Pokémon Champions site.

The Switch date is separate from the mobile launch. The Pokémon Company’s official mobile announcement search result gives June 17, 2026, as the iOS and Android release date. The current official game site also links to the Apple App Store and Google Play.
Which platforms support Pokémon Champions, and is there cross-play?
Pokémon Champions is available on Nintendo Switch and on mobile devices running iOS or Android. The official site says mobile players can battle players on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, so players across those platforms can face one another.

Nintendo Switch 2 can run the Switch version, and a free update enables clearer graphics on Switch 2, according to the March announcement. The sources do not establish other platform-specific performance differences.
How Pokémon HOME transfers work
Pokémon HOME integration is limited rather than an unrestricted two-way transfer. Certain Pokémon from earlier series games and Pokémon GO can visit Pokémon Champions through HOME, but the Pokémon Company’s February announcement says Pokémon obtained in Champions cannot be sent back to HOME. Check eligibility for individual Pokémon rather than assuming every species can transfer.

Is Pokémon Champions free?
The game is free-to-start, with optional purchases. Nintendo UK also lists an optional digital Pokémon Champions + Starter Pack. Its listed contents are:
- 50 additional Box spaces
- The “Battle! (Trainer Battle)” song from Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee!
- 30 Teammate Tickets
- 50 Training Tickets
Nintendo UK says broadband internet and a Nintendo Account are required for online services. Its listing identifies the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller as compatible, but does not say that a separate controller is required.

What battle modes are included?
- Ranked Battles: Results affect your rank and seasonal rewards.
- Casual Battles: Try battles without affecting your rank.
- Private Battles: Battle selected friends or other players.
Victory Points can be used to recruit and train Pokémon. The game’s February announcement also described a Dragonite claim for players who played before August 31, 2026. That promotion deadline has passed, so it is not a current offer.
