Crashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?
Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minutePC Slower Than It Used to Be?
A free scan shows the junk files, broken settings and background clutter dragging Windows down - then fixes them in one click.Free scan · Windows 10 & 11If a GO Battle League battle freezes, attacks arrive late, or you cannot switch Pokémon reliably, first compare your Wi-Fi and cellular connections while standing still. Then check Niantic’s live known-issues pages: they are time-sensitive, and the new PvP system list explicitly says it is not comprehensive. For a battle freeze, Niantic’s recommended sequence is to restart the app or device, clear the in-app cache, and reinstall only if needed.
Check whether Niantic has listed the issue
Niantic maintains separate resources for the new PvP battle system, the current GO Battle League system, and general Pokémon GO known issues. The Release Notes & Known Issues index links to these resources; the lists can change as issues are discovered or resolved. The new-system list says it is not comprehensive, so an issue missing from the page is not proof Niantic is unaware of it.

The surfaced copy of New PvP Battle System Known Issues was marked last updated August 24, 2026. It described adverse network conditions as an open issue under investigation, including battles becoming unresponsive after switching at battle start and switched-in Pokémon displaying incorrectly. The page also grouped other issues under fixed-in-future-release or resolved headings. Those are the page’s reported statuses; they do not establish that every player has received a fix. Check the live page for its current date and status before relying on them.
For issues not shown there, consult the current-system GO Battle League page and the general known-issues index as well. A single symptom in your match is not, by itself, confirmation of a game-wide bug.

“Latency in GO Battle League”: check the connection first
Niantic lists freezes, delayed attacks, and difficulty swapping Pokémon among possible latency symptoms. Its support article says weak or inconsistent connectivity is the most common cause it sees. Compare the connections available where you are rather than assuming Wi-Fi is always better than cellular data.
- Compare Wi-Fi with cellular data: switch between them and see which is more stable at your present location.
- Stay in one place: Niantic advises playing from a stable physical location and avoiding battles while moving.
- Prevent mid-battle network changes: disable Wi-Fi “Auto-Join” if the device could jump between networks during a battle.
- Avoid unreliable coverage: subways and underground spaces are examples Niantic gives of places where internet connectivity may be unstable.
These steps can help distinguish a connection problem from a listed game issue; they cannot prove the cause of a particular match’s behavior. See Niantic’s Latency in GO Battle League guidance and the live new PvP known-issues page for current advice.

“The game froze during a battle”: recovery steps
If a battle has frozen, Niantic recommends trying these steps in order:
- Restart Pokémon GO. If the app remains unresponsive, restart your device.
- Clear the in-app cache. Niantic notes that clearing cache resets Adventure Mode settings, so you may need to configure those again.
- Reinstall the app if the problem continues. On Android, Niantic’s instructions say to clear both the app cache and app data through the device settings.
Use the battle-freeze instructions in Niantic’s “The game froze during a battle” support article for the applicable device steps.

Report an issue that is not listed
For an unlisted bug or help specific to your account, Niantic directs players to submit a ticket in the app under Settings. A useful report should describe the symptom and approximate time, device and operating system, Pokémon GO app version, connection type, and steps that reproduce the problem. This context can help support understand what happened; it is practical reporting guidance, not a list Niantic explicitly requires.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How to interpret a visual or one-off symptom
Keep what you observed separate from what an official status page establishes. For example, the surfaced new-system list mentioned switched-in Pokémon displaying incorrectly, but that wording alone does not establish that the visual problem changes battle outcomes. Record the behavior you saw and check the live page for the issue’s current status rather than inferring more than its description says.
