Beldum Community Day Classic was held on Sunday, August 18, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. The event is over. Its key perk was a limited evolution window: evolving Metang by 7:00 p.m. local time that day gave Metagross the Charged Attack Meteor Mash.
When was Beldum Community Day Classic?
Niantic scheduled the event for Sunday, August 18, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. The event-specific evolution window remained open until 7:00 p.m. local time, two hours after the event ended. See Niantic’s event announcement.
Those dates and offers are historical, not a current event schedule. Community Day is location-based, so Niantic advises players to use a strong internet connection and set their device to detect the timezone automatically. On Android, its Help Center also points to the Improve Location Accuracy setting. Inaccurate or fluctuating clock or GPS settings can cause problems. How did players get Meteor Mash on Metagross?
During this event’s special window, evolve Metang—Beldum’s evolution—into Metagross. Evolving by 7:00 p.m. local time on August 18, 2024, gave Metagross the Charged Attack Meteor Mash. Niantic listed Meteor Mash at 100 power in Trainer Battles and 100 power in Gyms and raids.

That two-hour post-event window is specific to the Beldum announcement. Niantic’s Help Center describes the general Community Day rule as allowing featured attacks during the event or up to five hours afterward; for this event, follow the explicit two-hour window in the event announcement.
If you missed the event
Niantic says featured Community Day attacks are added to the Elite TM afterward. That establishes Elite TM use as a later route in general, but the cited guidance does not confirm whether Meteor Mash is available through an Elite TM or another route in the game today. Check a current official Pokémon GO announcement or in-game move options before relying on present-day availability.
Which Pokémon and bonuses were featured?
Beldum appeared more frequently in the wild, and shiny Beldum could be encountered. Niantic did not publish shiny odds in its announcement, so there is no official rate to quote.
- Eggs: Eggs placed into Incubators during the event had one-quarter hatch distance.
- Lure Modules: Lures activated during the event lasted three hours.
- Incense: Incense activated during the event lasted three hours, except Daily Adventure Incense.
- Snapshots: Taking snapshots could trigger a surprise.
The official announcement did not list a catch-candy bonus.

What research and other activities were available?
The event included themed Field Research, with rewards such as Stardust, Great Balls, and additional Beldum encounters. PokéStop Showcases also appeared at different PokéStops. Niantic’s Community Day map pointed players toward Community Ambassador events and historically popular parks; Niantic noted that the listed locations were informational and that it did not host or operate events at those places.

Niantic’s event announcement described the ticket and box prices and listed the in-game bundles. It does not establish that any of these offers remain available.
