Pokémon GO’s Jangmo-o Community Day took place on June 21, 2025, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. local time. The event boosted wild Jangmo-o appearances, offered catch and trade bonuses, and let players evolve Hakamo-o into a Kommo-o that knew Clanging Scales through June 28, 2025. Those deadlines have passed; this is a guide to the historical event, not an upcoming Community Day.
When was Jangmo-o Community Day, and what was the featured move?
Niantic held the event on Saturday, June 21, 2025, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. local time. Jangmo-o appeared more frequently in the wild, and players had a chance to encounter a Shiny. Niantic did not publish a numerical Shiny rate in its event announcement.
To get the featured move, players had to evolve Hakamo-o into Kommo-o during the event or by June 28, 2025, at 10 p.m. local time. The deadline has passed. In the announcement, Niantic listed Clanging Scales at 120 power in Trainer Battles, where it lowers the user’s Defense by one stage, and 120 power in Gyms and raids. Those are the values published for the event, not a statement about the move’s current balance.

What research and paid offers were available?
Field Research and timed research
The event included Jangmo-o-themed Field Research. Trainers who logged in during Community Day also received a separate week-long Timed Research opportunity. Niantic said it could reward an encounter with a Jangmo-o with a Special Background and an increased Shiny chance. Tasks had to be completed and rewards claimed by June 28, 2025, at 10 p.m. local time.
Optional Special Research ticket
Niantic offered an optional ticket for US$1.99 or the local equivalent. Listed rewards included additional encounters, three Jangmo-o with themed Special Backgrounds, a Premium Battle Pass, and a Rare Candy XL. This was a historical offer; the announcement does not establish that the ticket is available now.

Did Jangmo-o return for another Community Day?
Yes. Jangmo-o was part of Pokémon GO’s year-end Community Day lineup on Sunday, December 7, 2025. Niantic’s December 2025 announcement provided a separate event window for evolving Hakamo-o into a Kommo-o with Clanging Scales. That window has also passed; the June and December opportunities were distinct deadlines.

Is Jangmo-o Community Day the current event?
No. As of October 8, 2026, the event was historical. Niantic’s October 2026 Community Day announcement features Zorua for October 10, 2026, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. local time.
For general context, Niantic’s Community Day help page describes these as limited-time events featuring increased appearances of a Pokémon and an exclusive evolution attack, which is later added to Elite TMs. For any specific event, its announcement is the source for the applicable dates and deadlines.
