Cleffa appeared much more frequently in 2 km Eggs, Shiny Cleffa had an increased hatch chance, and players could earn event bonuses and Timed Research rewards. The event, its research, and its listed offers have ended.
What were the Cleffa Hatch Day bonuses?
During the three-hour event, Cleffa hatched much more frequently from 2 km Eggs. The official announcement also said players had an increased chance of hatching Shiny Cleffa, but it did not publish a numeric shiny rate or promise a guaranteed Cleffa hatch. It did not say Cleffa was the only Pokémon that could hatch from event-period 2 km Eggs.
- 2× Candy from hatching Eggs during the event.
- More frequent 2 km Egg drops from PokéStops during the event.
- Half hatch distance for Eggs placed in Incubators during the extended bonus window, from Friday, April 26, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. through Sunday, April 28, at 5:00 p.m. local time. This bonus was active throughout Hatch Day.
The Pokémon GO announcement described the featured hatch as: “Cleffa will hatch much more frequently from 2 km Eggs.”
What research and rewards were available?
Free Timed Research
Free event-exclusive Timed Research offered a Super Incubator and XP. Players had to complete the tasks and claim the rewards before 5:00 p.m. local time on April 28, 2024. The research has expired.

Paid Timed Research
A ticket was listed at US$1.00 or the equivalent local pricing tier. It provided 2× hatch Stardust during the event and set challenges to hatch an Egg and walk 2 km; completing them earned a Star Piece, a Super Incubator, and XP. The ticket and research expired when the event ended, so this was a past offer, not a currently purchasable ticket.
Field Research and historical bundles
Event-themed Field Research from PokéStop Photo Discs awarded Stardust and XP. The announcement also listed an Ultra Hatch Box for US$19.99 in the Pokémon GO Web Store and an in-game Hatch Box for 925 PokéCoins. Those bundles were listed for the 2024 event and should not be treated as currently available.

How egg hatching works
To hatch an Egg, place it in an Incubator and walk the distance shown for that Egg. Each Incubator holds one Egg. Every player has one infinite-use Incubator, while additional Incubators can be purchased in the in-game Shop. Tap an Egg to see which Pokémon may hatch from it; the possible Pokémon are grouped by rarity.
- Open your Pokémon collection and select the Eggs view.
- Tap the Egg you want to hatch and check its displayed distance and possible hatch list.
- Choose an available Incubator and place the Egg inside.
- Walk the displayed distance for that Egg to hatch.

Could you still take part in Cleffa Hatch Day?
No. Cleffa Hatch Day ended at 5:00 p.m. local time on April 28, 2024. Its free and paid Timed Research expired then, and the announcement’s event ticket and bundles are historical offers. The event details are useful as a record of what players could do at the time, not as instructions for an active event.
