Pokémon Go’s Cozy Companions event ran August 6–12, 2025, and introduced Snom and Frosmoth to the game. The event is over, so its Timed Research and event offers are no longer claimable; this guide records what was available and how Snom evolved.
When was the Cozy Companions event in Pokémon Go?
The event ran from Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. through Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. local time. The official Pokémon GO announcement introduced the Worm Pokémon Snom and its Evolution, Frosmoth, as game debuts.
How do you evolve Snom into Frosmoth?
During the event, evolving Snom required 400 Snom Candy, 10 hearts earned with Snom as your buddy, and an evolution at night. Meeting the Candy requirement alone was not enough: Snom also had to reach the buddy-heart threshold, and the evolution had to be performed at night.
What were the Cozy Companions event bonuses?
- 2× XP from hatching Eggs.
- One additional Special Trade per day.
- An increased chance of encountering Tandemaus in Party Play.
- Friendship levels increased faster than normal when players opened Gifts, traded Pokémon, or battled together in raids, Gyms, or Trainer Battles.
- The event was the first opportunity to encounter Shiny Tandemaus in Pokémon Go, if lucky.
Which Pokémon appeared in the wild and in Eggs?
Wild encounters
Abra, Geodude, Karrablast, Shelmet, and Phantump appeared more frequently in the wild. Some Trainers could also encounter Alolan Geodude. The announcement marked Pokémon that could be Shiny and noted that a Shiny encounter was possible if lucky.
