Pokémon GO’s Delightful Days: Taken Over event ran August 11–17, 2025, and is over. Its main draws were Special Research for a Super Rocket Radar to pursue Giovanni and Shadow Giratina, plus a Shadow Kyogre raid weekend on August 16–17. The research claim window closed September 2, 2025, at 9:59 a.m. local time, so these limited-time activities and offers are no longer available.
When was Delightful Days: Taken Over?
The Team GO Rocket takeover ran from Monday, August 11, at 12:00 a.m. through Sunday, August 17, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. local time. Team GO Rocket appeared more often at PokéStops and in balloons during the event. The dates and event details were announced by Pokémon GO.
How did the Special Research and Giovanni encounter work?
Special Research unlocked when the event began. Completing it awarded a Super Rocket Radar, which players could use to pursue Giovanni and his Shadow Giratina. The research could be claimed through September 2, 2025, at 9:59 a.m. local time, when the Delightful Days season ended. That claim deadline has passed; the announcement does not establish any way to claim this event research now.
The event announcement gives the unlock and claim dates and headline reward, but not the full task sequence. Leek Duck’s secondary event reference lists five steps and provides the detailed task sequence: Delightful Days: Taken Over event details.
