When did Pokémon GO Holiday Part 2 2024 run?
The Pokémon GO team scheduled Holiday Part 2 for Sunday, December 22, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. through Friday, December 27, 2024, at 8:00 p.m. local time. This is a retrospective account of the announced 2024 event, not a current event listing. The official announcement noted that upcoming events can change: Pokémon GO Holiday Part 2 announcement.
What were the Holiday Part 2 event bonuses?
- 2× XP for catching Pokémon.
- 50% more XP from Raid Battles.
A separate “12 Days of Daily Adventure Incense” promotion overlapped the latter part of the event: it ran from December 25, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. until January 5, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. local time, and Daily Adventure Incense lasted twice as long during that promotion. Those dates and the longer Incense duration were not the Holiday Part 2 event window or one of its listed core bonuses.
Which Pokémon debuted, and what appeared in the wild?
Holiday-attire Wooloo and Dubwool made their Pokémon GO debut. The announced evolution requirement was 50 Wooloo Candy to evolve costumed Wooloo into costumed Dubwool.

The event announcement listed these as more frequent wild encounters:

Absol was listed as an additional possible encounter. The official page marked some Pokémon as potentially shiny, but did not publish encounter odds or measured spawn rates.

The announcement described Holiday Part 2 as the first opportunity to encounter shiny Cetoddle in Pokémon GO and said shiny Cetoddle had an increased chance in raids. That did not guarantee a shiny encounter, and no numeric shiny odds were provided.

- Field Research: Event-themed tasks offered encounters with event-themed Pokémon.
- Collection Challenges: Catch- and raid-focused challenges awarded Stardust, Great Balls, Ultra Balls and event-themed encounters.
- PokéStop Showcases: Showcases accepted event-themed Pokémon.
Paid Timed Research: rewards and deadline
The optional event-exclusive Timed Research ticket was listed at US$5.00 or the equivalent local pricing tier. Its announced rewards were one Glacial Lure Module, two Incense, a Wooloo Jacket avatar item and encounters with holiday-attire Wooloo. Tasks had to be completed and all rewards claimed by December 27, 2024, at 8:00 p.m. local time. That deadline passed, so the ticket and its reward encounters are no longer available through this event.
The Pokémon GO team said tickets could be gifted to friends at Great Friends level or higher and could not be purchased with PokéCoins. The announcement described purchases as non-refundable, subject to applicable law and exceptions in the Terms of Service.

How was Part 2 different from Holiday Part 1?
Holiday Part 1 ran from December 17, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. through December 22 at 9:59 a.m. local time. It offered half hatch distance for Eggs placed in Incubators during Part 1; that was not a Part 2 bonus.
