Shiny Elgyem is available in Pokémon GO, and the clearest confirmed opportunity right now is at participating European Space Agency locations from October 4 through October 10, 2026. The event lists Elgyem as appearing more frequently in the wild and says it may be shiny. Beheeyem is Elgyem’s evolved form, but current official information does not establish a separate Beheeyem encounter opportunity.
Can Elgyem be shiny in Pokémon GO?
Yes. Shiny Elgyem debuted in Pokémon GO during the 2022 Psychic Spectacular event, which the official event announcement described as the first opportunity to encounter it. Niantic notes that shiny variants are not available for every Pokémon and advises players to check official Pokémon GO announcements for availability details; see its Shiny Pokémon guidance.
Where to find Elgyem now
Participating ESA locations, October 4–10, 2026
The current official opportunity is tied to Pokémon GO’s European Space Agency event. From October 4 through October 10, 2026, Elgyem appears more frequently around participating ESA locations in Europe, and the event page says listed Pokémon may be shiny. This is a site-specific event, not a worldwide spawn boost. The seven named locations are:
- ESA HQ in Paris, France
- ESA ESRIN in Frascati, near Rome, Italy
- ESA ESOC in Darmstadt, Germany
- ESA ESAC near Madrid, Spain
- ESA ESTEC in Noordwijk, Netherlands
- ESA ESEC near Redu, Belgium
- ESA ECSAT in Harwell, United Kingdom
Check for wild Elgyem at one of these locations during the event window. The official ESA event page identifies the wild Elgyem appearance as the species-specific method; it does not publish shiny odds.

Event Field Research
The event also describes Field Research at participating museums, with encounters with event-themed Pokémon among the possible rewards. It does not name an Elgyem-specific task or say every Field Research encounter can be Elgyem. Spinning PokéStops at participating museums is a way to access the event research, but the reward is not a guaranteed Elgyem encounter.
Can you get Shiny Elgyem from raids or other research?
Niantic’s general guidance lists wild encounters, Raid Boss encounters, Research Breakthroughs, Field Research rewards, and other rewards as possible ways to encounter shiny Pokémon. That is general guidance, not confirmation that Elgyem is currently in raids or a particular research reward pool. The current ESA event announcement specifically lists Elgyem in the wild and separately mentions event Field Research, so do not treat raids or a named research task as a confirmed current Elgyem method.

How to approach the hunt
- Check the event dates and location. The increased Elgyem appearances are listed only for October 4–10, 2026, at the seven participating European ESA sites.
- Look for wild Elgyem during the event. The event confirms increased appearances and the possibility of a shiny encounter, but does not state a probability.
- Use museum Field Research as an additional chance, not a promise. Spin participating museum PokéStops for event tasks, while keeping in mind that Elgyem is not guaranteed as a reward.
- After the event, check a current official announcement. The ESA page describes some museum gameplay through April 30, 2027, but does not say Elgyem remains available for that longer period. Availability after October 10, 2026, is not confirmed by these sources.
What about Shiny Beheeyem?
Beheeyem is Elgyem’s evolved form, but the current official sources cited here do not document a separate Beheeyem encounter opportunity or establish its evolution requirements. The supported practical approach is to look for Shiny Elgyem; these sources do not justify claiming that Beheeyem has a separate current shiny chance.
