The best right winger in Football Manager 2024 depends on whether you need an elite starter now, a prospect to develop, or a player who fits a particular wide role. This editorial ranking uses the FM24 24.3 database context and weighs immediate quality first, then role fit and development value; it is not an official Sports Interactive ranking. Player ratings and transfer circumstances can differ in other database updates and saves.
Which FM24 database does this ranking use?
This guide is anchored to the official FM24 24.3 main data update, released across platforms on February 29, 2024. Sports Interactive said the refresh made more than six million data changes and adjusted current ability ratings and attributes for tens of thousands of players based on real-world performance since launch. Some licensed calendar-year leagues reflected rosters only through the end of 2023, so the update is a historical snapshot rather than a promise that every league’s squad is current to the same date. See Sports Interactive’s update notice.
“Best” here means a blend of proven first-team quality and useful tactical fit, with potential and likely practicality used to separate close calls. Other lists answer different questions: Sortitoutsi sorts natural AMR players by current ability, while FM Scout and youth guides focus on wonderkid status or potential. Neither the game nor the cited guides establish one universal top 30. Consider this a reasoned shortlist, not an official leaderboard.
Who are the best right wingers in FM24?
The first ten are established, high-end options in the 24.3-era discussion. The order below is an editorial synthesis informed by published FM24 rankings and natural-AMR current-ability examples; it is not a claim that the players share a single measured score. Sortitoutsi’s displayed ages, clubs, wages, values and contract dates are tied to its database snapshot, so those details are not repeated as universal signing facts. Sortitoutsi’s natural-AMR current-ability list and FM25.co.uk’s February 25, 2024 editorial ranking are useful comparison points.
#1 Best Overall
| Rank | Player | Why consider him | Best fit |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Lionel Messi | Named first in FM25.co.uk’s dated FM24 editorial top ten and among Sortitoutsi’s leading natural-AMR entries. His placement here favors elite immediate quality, not long-term development. | A title-chasing side seeking a decisive established attacker. |
| 2 | Mohamed Salah | Second in that FM25.co.uk list and a leading natural-AMR entry in Sortitoutsi’s current-ability view. A premium choice for teams that need a proven wide threat now. | An ambitious club prioritizing immediate impact. |
| 3 | Bukayo Saka | Third in FM25.co.uk’s list and among Sortitoutsi’s leading natural-AMR players. He is a strong all-round established option in this ranking. | A team wanting a high-level starter with room to remain central to its project. |
| 4 | Ousmane Dembélé | Fourth in FM25.co.uk’s list and included among Sortitoutsi’s leading natural-AMR entries. His ranking reflects top-tier attacking quality rather than a promise about consistency in every save. | A side that can build its wide attack around an elite technical profile. |
| 5 | Rodrygo | Fifth in FM25.co.uk’s list and a leading natural-AMR entry in Sortitoutsi. He sits high for immediate quality while also appealing to managers planning beyond a short-term fix. | A strong squad seeking a high-quality attacker with a longer horizon. |
| 6 | Raheem Sterling | Sixth in FM25.co.uk’s list and named among Sortitoutsi’s leading natural-AMR entries. He is an established option for a club focused on winning now. | A contender that values an experienced first-team choice. |
| 7 | Riyad Mahrez | Seventh in FM25.co.uk’s February 2024 ranking. His placement is from that guide’s editorial ordering; it should not be read as a universal in-game rating. | A manager looking for an established wide attacker, subject to the save’s database and availability. |
| 8 | Marco Asensio | Eighth in FM25.co.uk’s list and among Sortitoutsi’s leading natural-AMR entries. His inclusion offers another established name to compare against the top tier. | A squad seeking a senior attacking option rather than a youth project. |
| 9 | Serge Gnabry | Ninth in FM25.co.uk’s editorial ranking. This placement is a comparative guide, not a guarantee of a particular attribute line or transfer cost. | A high-level squad assessing a proven wide attacker. |
| 10 | Dejan Kulusevski | Tenth in FM25.co.uk’s ranking and among Sortitoutsi’s leading natural-AMR entries. He rounds out the established group for managers comparing role and squad fit. | A team seeking an established option whose precise role should be checked in-game. |
What separates a right winger from an inside forward?
AMR identifies the attacking-right-midfield position, not one fixed way of playing it. A player who holds the touchline and delivers crosses offers a different solution from an inverted winger or inside forward who moves infield. FM25.co.uk’s wonderkid guide says it leans toward inside-forward and inverted-winger profiles; classic touchline wingers are a different profile. Use the role and duty that suit the player’s preferred foot, attributes and your team’s shape rather than treating every AMR as interchangeable. The cited lists do not supply a verified, comparable foot-and-role breakdown for all 30 candidates.
Who are the best right-wing wonderkids in FM24?
Youth rankings answer a different question from current-ability rankings: they identify possible future value, not guaranteed first-team performance. FM Scout’s FM24 wonderkid database was updated to revision 5 on April 10, 2024. It defines its wonderkid cohort as players aged no more than 20 at its stated in-game date with potential ability of at least 150; it reports approximately 817 wonderkids across positions, not 817 right wingers. Crucially, many potential ability values are ranges, so development outcomes are uncertain. FM Scout’s FM24 wonderkid guide.

For right-wing youth names specifically, PC Gamer lists Lamine Yamal, Shea Lacey and Ben Doak among FM24 wonderkids at the position. They are sensible prospects to inspect in your save, but the available cited evidence does not establish a comparable top-three order, fixed potential outcomes, or a guaranteed transfer price. No verified, comparable transfer-cost table for these 30 players is established by the cited sources, so naming “cheap” winners or quoting fees would be misleading. FM25.co.uk does frame part of its wonderkid coverage as a right-wing shortlist under £10m, but that threshold belongs to its guide and database context; it is not a universal or current asking price. Before targeting any player, check the selected database and save for transfer availability, club willingness, contract, wage demand and registration constraints. A player’s listed value is not the same as the fee a club will accept.

How should you choose the right player for your save?
- Need a starter immediately: prioritize current ability and whether the player can perform your intended AMR role now.
- Building for the future: use potential as a possible ceiling, not a promise. Scout development and fit in your save.
- Need a specific tactical profile: distinguish a touchline winger from an inverted winger or inside forward, and inspect preferred foot and role suitability in-game.
- Working within a budget: compare the total commitment—fee, wages and club willingness—not just a displayed value or a guide’s under-£10m category.
- Comparing online rankings: check whether a list ranks current ability, potential, age, affordability or editorial preference. Those methods will produce different answers.
