To get Goodra in Pokémon GO, evolve Goomy into Sliggoo, then evolve Sliggoo while the game’s weather is rainy or while you’re near a PokéStop with an active Rainy Lure Module. You do not need both conditions for the final evolution.
How to evolve Goomy into Sliggoo
-
Open Goomy’s Pokémon summary and check the Candy requirement shown beside the Evolve option. Pokémon GO says each species has its own Candy cost; the current amount is displayed on the Pokémon’s summary screen. Pokémon GO Help Center: Evolving Pokémon
-
Once you have enough Goomy Candy, select Evolve on the summary screen to get Sliggoo.

| Route | What to do | When it is useful |
|---|---|---|
| Rainy in-game weather | Wait until Pokémon GO shows rainy weather, then evolve Sliggoo. | Convenient if the game’s weather changes to rainy while you are playing. |
| Rainy Lure Module | Stand near a PokéStop with an active Rainy Lure Module, then evolve Sliggoo. | An alternative when rainy in-game weather is unavailable. |
Pokémon GO confirms that Sliggoo can evolve into Goodra in rainy weather or near a Rainy Lure Module. Pokémon GO: Goomy Community Day A Special Lure can enable a special evolution option when you are near the PokéStop where it is installed. Pokémon GO Help Center: Special Lure Modules
Check the weather in the game
The requirement is rainy weather in Pokémon GO, not simply rain outside. Real-world rain does not guarantee the game will display rainy weather, so check the in-game weather before trying this route.

Thunder Punch was the featured move during the June 2024 Goomy Community Day evolution window. Evolving Sliggoo during the event on Sunday, June 9, 2024, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. local time, or within five hours afterward, produced a Goodra that knew Thunder Punch. That was a limited event bonus, not a requirement for evolving Sliggoo into Goodra today. The announcement listed Thunder Punch at 55 power in Trainer Battles and 45 power in Gyms and raids.
