In the current Pokémon GO leveling system, Level 43 does not require the old Gym Battle, Raid Battle, or Platinum medal tasks. Niantic and Scopely removed Level-Up Research for levels 41–50 in the October 15, 2025 update. Check your Trainer Profile’s XP bar for your personal progress; the published update does not give an exact Level 43 XP threshold.
What Level 43 requires now
Level 43 progression is part of the reworked XP-based leveling system, not the old Level-Up Research challenge list. The October 15, 2025 leveling update raised the Trainer level cap from 50 to 80 and removed Level-Up Research tasks for levels 41–50. The update does not publish a Level 43 XP total, so use the XP bar in your own Trainer Profile rather than relying on an older threshold.
XP comes from gameplay activities including catching Pokémon, visiting PokéStops, and battling. XP earned beyond your current level’s threshold carries forward. See Niantic’s help on leveling up and earning medals for the current overview.
Why older Level 43 guides list Gym, Raid, and medal tasks
Those guides describe the former system. In its 2020 announcement, the Pokémon GO team said Level 43 would test mastery of Gym and Raid Battles and require a certain number of Platinum medals; it also mentioned a possible avatar item at the end. That description applied to the level-up research challenges introduced for levels 41–50 at the time. The 2025 update removed those tasks, so they are not current Level 43 requirements.

How to check your Level 43 progress
- Open your Trainer Profile.
- Look at the XP progress bar to see your current progress toward the next level.
- If you want to check medal milestones, select a medal in the profile to view its progress. Those medal milestones are separate from Level 43 progression.
XP totals beyond the officially published milestones should not be inferred from older leveling tables. The 2025 update lists totals for selected levels, but not Level 43.

Which XP totals are officially published?
The October 2025 update gives these cumulative XP milestones. They are reference points, not a substitute for the Level 43 threshold, which is not stated in that published list.
| Trainer level | Total XP to reach it | Source |
|---|---|---|
| 40 | 3,953,000 | Pokémon GO, October 15, 2025 update |
| 50 | 12,753,000 | Pokémon GO, October 15, 2025 update |
| 80 | 203,353,000 | Pokémon GO, October 15, 2025 update |
The official list also gives totals for levels 10, 20, 30, 60, and 70, but omits Level 43. Do not treat a figure from a pre-rebalance guide as the current requirement.

When Level-Up Research appears now
Level-Up Research is associated with the later levels in the current system, not Level 43. The Pokémon GO Help Center says Level-Up Research appears automatically in the Trainer Profile after reaching Level 70; the binoculars beside the XP bar show its requirements and progress. The 2025 update says research tasks are associated with levels 71–80.
For research-task instructions, consult the Pokémon GO Help Center’s guide to research types.
