Pokémon GO Master League and Great League Remix Guide: Current Formats and Rules (October 2026)

As of October 8, 2026, Twilight Trails schedules Mega Editions—not Remix—for the current rotation. Check the live Battle screen before building a team.

As of October 8, 2026, Pokémon GO’s published Twilight Trails schedule does not list Great League Remix or Master League Remix. It does list Master League: Mega Edition for October 6–13, alongside Great League: Mega Edition. Check the in-game Battle screen before building a party: GO Battle League formats rotate, and Remix rules or bans should not be assumed from an earlier season.

Which formats are available right now?

Twilight Trails began September 8, 2026. The official schedule places Great League: Mega Edition, Ultra League: Mega Edition, and Master League: Mega Edition in the October 6–13 rotation, with listed changes at 1:00 p.m. PDT (GMT −7). It does not list either Great League Remix or Master League Remix. The schedule also shows standard Great League on October 13–20, Master League: Mega Edition on October 20–27, and standard Master League on October 27–November 3. Dates and formats are season-specific; consult the official Twilight Trails schedule and the in-game Battle screen for the active rules.

What is allowed in Great League Remix?

The current published Twilight Trails schedule does not include Great League Remix, so it does not establish a current Remix eligibility list or ban list. If Remix appears in a later rotation, use that cup’s live rules in the Battle screen or a current official announcement rather than carrying forward exclusions from a previous season.

What is the Great League Remix ban list?

No current ban list is established by the published schedule. It would be misleading to name Pokémon as currently banned without current rules for that cup.

What is the best team for Great League Remix?

There is no current Great League Remix rotation or supported team ranking in the published schedule. Once a Remix cup is active, build around its actual eligible Pokémon and the roles each member fills—lead, switch, and closer—then check coverage for the team’s weaknesses. A party must contain three distinct species: the Help Center says, “You cannot use two or more of the same species of Pokémon in a GO Battle League party.”

What are the current Great League and Master League rules?

Format in the Twilight Trails schedule Rule stated for the current season Scheduled dates relevant here
Great League: Mega Edition Pokémon at or below 1,500 CP; Mega-Evolved Pokémon are eligible. October 6–13, 2026
Master League: Mega Edition No ordinary Master League CP limit; Mega-Evolved Pokémon are eligible. October 6–13 and October 20–27, 2026
Standard Great League Great League’s standard CP cap is 1,500 CP. October 13–20, 2026
Standard Master League No CP limit. October 27–November 3, 2026

The Mega Edition rules and dates above are stated in the Twilight Trails season announcement. Do not treat these dated entries as permanent rules for future rotations.

What CP can I use in Great League?

For the October 6–13 Great League: Mega Edition rotation, Pokémon must be at or below 1,500 CP. The standard Great League entry scheduled for October 13–20 also uses the 1,500 CP cap.

Can Mega Pokémon battle in Master League?

Yes, in the scheduled Master League: Mega Edition rotation. The season page says Mega-Evolved Pokémon are eligible; it does not impose the ordinary Master League CP cap on that format.

How should you build a party for the active format?

Start with eligibility, not a copied team list. A Pokémon’s usefulness depends on the active cup’s rules, the party’s coverage, and the job it needs to do. No official performance evidence here establishes a universally best team for either Remix cup.

  1. Confirm the format and restrictions. Open the in-game Battle screen and read the current cup rules. Seasonal schedules can change, and a previous Remix ban list may no longer apply.
  2. Check your candidates against the format. For Great League, verify the CP cap and any cup-specific eligibility rules. For Master League, plan for an uncapped CP field; in Mega Edition, Mega-Evolved Pokémon are eligible.
  3. Assign three distinct species to roles. Decide which Pokémon leads, which can switch in to manage an unfavorable matchup, and which you want available to close. Duplicate species are not allowed in one GBL party.
  4. Review weaknesses and investment. Consider whether the three picks leave a shared vulnerability and whether their CP or other build requirements are practical for you. These are team-building checks, not a claim that a particular composition is ranked best.
  5. Recheck moves and mechanics before relying on older advice. Niantic began rolling out a rebuilt PvP battle system on June 23, 2026, and said Mimikyu became eligible for GO Battle League outside the Competitors Cup. Earlier strategy guides may describe a different system or eligibility set.

Why older Remix guides can be misleading

Remix is not a standing entry in the reviewed Twilight Trails schedule, and the current rules for a future Remix cup cannot be inferred from standard Great or Master League. The season schedule is the appropriate source for dated rotations; use the live lobby to verify cup availability and restrictions before spending resources on a team. Niantic’s June 23, 2026 Trainer Battle update also marks a change to the PvP system, so older advice may not match current mechanics or Pokémon eligibility.

Who can enter GO Battle League?

The Pokémon GO Help Center says Trainers must be level 10 or higher to access GO Battle League. It also notes that seasons reset ranks and ratings, and that schedules can vary rather than following a fixed permanent progression. See the GO Battle League Help Center page for general access and party rules.
