It brought Indeedee to the game, featured event encounters from wild Pokémon, 5 km Eggs and three-star raids, and increased Team GO Rocket activity. The event and its bonuses are over; this guide records what was available and which research deadlines applied.
When did the event run?
The event ran from Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. through Sunday, September 21, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. local time. Its bonuses ended at 11:59 p.m. local time on September 21. These dates have passed. Pokémon GO’s September 1, 2025 announcement has the original event details.
What Pokémon and bonuses were featured?
Wild encounters
Indeedee made its Pokémon GO debut, and a shiny Indeedee could hatch from an Egg if players were lucky. Lunatone and Solrock appeared in the wild regardless of location. Abra was also among the event wild encounters, and Beldum could appear.
Eggs
The event’s 5 km Egg pool included Smoochum, Chingling, Espurr and Indeedee. Eggs placed in Incubators during the event received half hatch distance. That bonus ended with the event.

Three-star raids featured Alolan Raichu, Hisuian Braviary and Wyrdeer.
Throw and Rocket bonuses
- Nice Throws or better awarded additional Candy. Trainers level 31 and up had an increased chance of receiving Candy XL for those throws.
- Team GO Rocket appeared more frequently at PokéStops and in balloons.
- During the event, a Charged TM could remove Frustration from a Shadow Pokémon.
The newly listed Shadow Pokémon were Qwilfish, Swablu, Baltoy and Deino.
What research was available, and when did it expire?
Free Special Research
Special Research unlocked at the event start and offered a Super Rocket Radar, which players could use to pursue Giovanni and Shadow Incarnate Forme Tornadus. Players could claim the research until December 2, 2025, at 9:59 a.m. local time. That claim deadline has passed.
Paid Timed Research
The optional Timed Research ticket was listed at US$4.99 or the equivalent local pricing tier in 2025. Its rewards included two Premium Battle Passes, one Super Rocket Radar, and encounters including Ralts, Gothita and Wyrdeer. The ticket could be gifted to Great Friends or higher and could not be purchased with PokéCoins. These were historical offer details, not current purchase options.

Unlike the Special Research, the paid Timed Research had to be completed and its rewards claimed by September 21, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. local time. That deadline has passed.

How to read the event’s encounter options
The event spread Pokémon across three main encounter sources. For a historical reference, the official announcement listed:

These were event-specific pools, not current encounter listings. The announcement did not establish encounter rates, so it does not support a claim about which source was most likely to produce a particular Pokémon.
