Pokémon GO’s September 2024 Community Day featured Ponyta and Galarian Ponyta on Saturday, September 14, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. local time. Both appeared more frequently in the wild, and evolving either during the event or within five hours afterward produced a Rapidash with the Charged Attack Wild Charge.
This is a historical event recap: its event window, tickets, and bundles are no longer being offered as current promotions.
Which Pokémon were featured?
The official event, titled “September 2024 Community Day: Ponyta & Galarian Ponyta,” featured Ponyta, the Fire Horse Pokémon, and Galarian Ponyta, the Unique Horn Pokémon. Both appeared more frequently in the wild, and players had a chance to encounter a Shiny version; a Shiny encounter was not guaranteed. The Pokémon GO announcement, published August 21, 2024, revealed the featured Pokémon. The official season calendar, published August 7, 2024, also listed September 14 as a Community Day date.
When was the event?
Community Day ran Saturday, September 14, 2024, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. local time. Most listed bonuses applied during those three hours. Trade bonuses continued until 10:00 p.m. local time.

How did the evolution move work?
Evolve either featured Pokémon during the event or within the following five hours to get its evolution with Wild Charge:
- Ponyta evolved into Rapidash.
- Galarian Ponyta evolved into Galarian Rapidash.
Both evolutions had the same move opportunity. The announcement listed Wild Charge at 100 power in Trainer Battles and 90 power in Gyms and raids.

What bonuses were announced?
Pokémon GO listed these event bonuses:
- 2× Candy for catching Pokémon.
- 3× Stardust for catching Pokémon.
- For Trainers level 31 and up, 2× chance of receiving Candy XL from catches.
- Lure Modules and eligible Incense lasted three hours when activated during the event. Daily Adventure Incense was excluded.
- A surprise encounter could appear after taking snapshots.
- One additional Special Trade was allowed, bringing the daily maximum to two, and trades cost 50% less Stardust. These trade bonuses lasted until 10:00 p.m. local time.
What happened after the main event?
Special four-star Ponyta and Galarian Ponyta raids were scheduled from 5:00 to 10:00 p.m. local time. After a successful raid, additional Ponyta and Galarian Ponyta could appear around that Gym for 30 minutes. These raids accepted Raid Passes and Premium Battle Passes, but not Remote Raid Passes.

- In-game bundles: A 1,350 PokéCoin bundle contained 50 Ultra Balls, five Super Incubators, one Elite Charged TM, and five Lucky Eggs. A 480 PokéCoin bundle contained 30 Ultra Balls, one Incense, three Super Incubators, and one Lure Module.
Event-themed Field Research offered rewards such as Stardust, Great Balls, and Ponyta or Galarian Ponyta encounters. PokéStop Showcases were also announced.
