When did Sunkissed Shores run?
The event ran from Monday, August 25, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. until Sunday, August 31, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. local time. Its event bonus was 2× XP for winning Raid Battles. Dondozo made its Pokémon GO debut; Niantic said players might encounter a Shiny Dondozo if lucky.

Niantic’s Sunkissed Shores announcement is the source for the event dates, encounters, raid lineup and rewards.
Which Pokémon appeared in the wild?
Niantic said these Pokémon appeared more frequently in the wild during the event:

Event-themed Field Research tasks could award encounters with event-themed Pokémon. Niantic’s announcement did not specify the individual task pool.

Free Timed Research
The free Timed Research offered 10,000 XP, 7,000 Stardust and encounters with event-themed Pokémon. Tasks had to be completed and rewards claimed by Sunday, August 31, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. local time. That deadline has passed.
Paid Timed Research
Niantic listed two paid Timed Research offers, each priced at US$1.99 or the equivalent local pricing tier. Both expired at the end of the event.

Tickets could be gifted to friends at Great Friends friendship level or higher. Niantic said purchases were non-refundable, subject to applicable law and exceptions in its Terms of Service, and that tickets could not be bought with PokéCoins. These terms described the 2025 offers, not a current purchase option.

Did Pokémon GO Plus + provide an event benefit?
No Sunkissed Shores-specific benefit was announced for Pokémon GO Plus +. Niantic describes it as a general gameplay accessory that can automatically throw Poké Balls at wild Pokémon and spin PokéStops; it also supports sleep tracking. How to check future Pokémon GO event details
For a current or upcoming event, check the in-game event calendar and open the linked official announcement. Niantic’s Help Center says the calendar shows event duration and bonuses and links to event details: Event Calendar. Event dates, encounters, regional availability and purchase terms can change from one event to another.
