The most demanding requirements
Across all four stages, the tasks required defeating 30 Team GO Rocket Grunts. The final stage also required purifying 10 Shadow Pokémon. Purification uses Stardust, and its cost depends on the Pokémon, so the total cost was not fixed. Players who were preparing to complete the research needed to keep enough eligible Shadow Pokémon and Stardust for that final task.
Ticket price, deadlines and availability
The ticket cost US$5 or the equivalent local pricing tier. It could not be bought with PokéCoins; purchases were non-refundable except where applicable law required otherwise. Players could gift the ticket to friends at Great Friends status or higher. These terms and deadlines were set out in the official Pokémon GO event announcement.

Taken Treasures also featured more frequent Team GO Rocket appearances and a window to use Charged TMs to remove Frustration from Shadow Pokémon. The event introduced Varoom and Revavroom to Pokémon GO; Varoom could hatch from 12 km Eggs and evolve using 50 Varoom Candy. These were event-wide features, not encounters in the paid research track. The Pokémon.com event overview describes those features.
