The Verdant Wonders Collection Challenge ran during Pokémon GO’s March 21–25, 2024 event and is no longer available. Niantic confirmed its rewards—Stardust, XP, and an encounter with flower-crown Cottonee—but its event announcement did not publish the challenge’s Pokémon checklist or the required way to collect each one.
When the Verdant Wonders Collection Challenge was available
Niantic scheduled Verdant Wonders from Thursday, March 21, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. through Monday, March 25, 2024, at 8:00 p.m. local time. The event has ended, and Collection Challenges usually disappear when their associated event ends. You cannot complete this event-timed challenge now. What the challenge rewarded
Niantic listed three rewards for completing the challenge: Stardust, XP, and an encounter with Cottonee wearing a flower crown. The announcement did not state how much Stardust or XP players received.
Which Pokémon were required?
The official event announcement confirms that Verdant Wonders had a Collection Challenge, but it does not show the individual Pokémon on its checklist or specify how each had to be obtained. Event spawns and Field Research encounters listed in the announcement are not proof of the challenge roster. An exact checklist or acquisition-method list cannot be verified from the official information cited here, so treat any such list without an authoritative source cautiously.

How Collection Challenges work
- Open Today View in Pokémon GO and tap the Events tab to find an active Collection Challenge.
- Read each entry’s details. The required method can vary: a task may call for catching, hatching, evolving, or trading a Pokémon. Some event Pokémon may be available only through research task rewards or raids.
- Complete the task using the method specified on screen. A checkmark appears beside a collected Pokémon; if it is your first catch, its silhouette changes to the Pokémon’s image.
- Finish before the event ends. Collection Challenge completion can also advance the Elite Collector medal.
These are Niantic’s general instructions, not a reconstruction of the missing Verdant Wonders checklist. See the Pokémon GO Help Center for the general Collection Challenge guidance.

During the 2024 event window it was listed at US$7.99 or the equivalent local pricing tier. Players had to open the game during that window to receive the research; once received, it could be completed at any time. This expired offer was separate from the Collection Challenge and is not a current way to obtain the challenge rewards.
