During the event, Castform appeared more often in wild encounters during matching weather, while event Field Research offered a weather-independent route to Castform encounters. The Collection Challenge required catching Normal, Rainy, Snowy, and Sunny Castform.
When was Weather Week 2024?
The event ran from Thursday, March 14, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. through Monday, March 18, 2024, at 8:00 p.m. in each player’s local time, according to the official Pokémon GO announcement.
Its announced bonuses were 2× Stardust for catching Pokémon, extra Stardust for catching weather-boosted Pokémon, and an increased chance of encountering Shiny Castform. Niantic did not publish a numeric shiny rate, so there is no supported percentage or guarantee to cite.
How did Castform appear during Weather Week?
Wild encounters followed the weather
Castform appeared more frequently in the wild during its respective weather conditions. The announcement did not specify spawn rates or promise that every form would be available in every location. A matching weather condition could improve the opportunity to encounter the corresponding form, but it did not guarantee a particular spawn.

Field Research was the weather-independent route
Event Field Research encounters were available regardless of the current weather. The event list included Normal, Sunny, and Rainy Castform, and also listed Snowy Castform as a possible encounter. The task associated with a Castform encounter was “Catch 10 Pokémon with Weather Boost.” The sources do not establish the odds of receiving a particular form from that task or guarantee which form an encounter would yield.
In the event reference, “Catch 5 Pokémon with Weather Boost” could reward an encounter with Paras, Drifloon, Helioptile, or Amaura; “Catch 7 Pokémon with Weather Boost” rewarded 750 Stardust; and “Catch 10 Pokémon with Weather Boost” could reward a Castform encounter. See the Serebii.net Weather Week 2024 event record for the task pool.

What did the Castform Collection Challenge require?
The Castform-focused Collection Challenge asked players to catch all four forms: Normal, Rainy, Snowy, and Sunny Castform. Serebii’s event record lists its reward as 5,000 Stardust and one Incense. The official announcement confirms that Collection Challenges offered Stardust and Incense, but its text does not detail each challenge’s individual reward.
The event record also lists a separate Collection Challenge featuring Helioptile, Amaura, Paras, Drifloon, and Castform, with 7,500 Stardust as its reward. It was distinct from the four-form Castform challenge.
Which Pokémon and raids were part of the event?
