Pocket Gamer’s explanations point to different kinds of utility rather than one universal winner. These are the guide’s stated reasons, not independently measured results.

Seraphim: Luck stacking or Fire Resistance
Pocket Gamer lists +2.5% Fire Resistance and +1 Luck for Seraphim. The Luck bonus may appeal if your build already prioritizes Luck, while the resistance is a defensive trait to weigh against the threats you face. The guide’s figures do not establish that Seraphim is best for every class or encounter.
Human: damage against undead and Surge
The guide cites increased damage against undead and the Surge active, which it describes as converting 50 hunger into a stamina boost. That makes Human worth considering when those traits match your activities; the cited description does not establish how it compares with other species in every situation.

Elf: cooldowns and invisibility
Pocket Gamer points to reduced cooldowns and an invisibility active, and specifically suggests Elf as a potential fit for Magician. Treat that as a build suggestion, not a tested class ranking. Check the current in-game ability description and decide whether its active and cooldown utility fit how you play.
Slime: blob-based healing
The guide says collected blobs can restore HP and suggests possible synergy with Warrior or Archer. That may be useful if the healing effect fits your combat loop, but the guide does not provide a controlled comparison or establish how often the effect is available in different situations.

Other species: compare the live traits, not just the letter
Pocket Gamer places Dullahan in S tier, Vampire, Orc, Half-Golem, and Ailuran in A, Infernim, Bunny, and Ghoul in B, and Amphibu and Chiroptran in C. Its cited explanations do not provide enough detail to rank every one of those options by class. Read each species’ current description in game and compare the actual trait with your build’s needs rather than assuming that a tier letter settles the choice.
How to use a tier list before rerolling
- Check the live roster and descriptions in game. Community references do not agree on the species list or on older mechanics, and the newest dated guide has an internal roster-count discrepancy.
- Match the trait to your class and goal. Consider whether you need damage for a particular enemy type, survivability, mobility or concealment, cooldown utility, or a bonus that supports an existing build.
- Weigh passive and active effects separately. A passive bonus may contribute differently from an ability you must activate. Check the current description and decide whether you will actually use the active.
- Decide whether a reroll is worth it. Consider how much you value the target species and how willing you are to spend reroll currency pursuing it. A tier list does not guarantee a specific result or make a rare option necessary for your build.
Why older race lists and odds may mislead
Pro Game Guides’ older list, updated May 4, 2025, ranks only six races and differs from Pocket Gamer’s later placements. The two lists should not be combined into one ranking: they cover different sets of names and do not establish a shared scoring method. Pro Game Guides’ 2025 Rune Slayer race list also reports chances of 25.3% each for Human, Elf, and Orc; 10% for Ailuran; 6% each for Slime and Half-Golem; and 2% for Dullahan. Those are dated guide figures, not verified current odds.

Community wiki references add to the uncertainty: the Races page has a shorter roster and older acquisition information, while the Species page lists 14 species and its own chance table. Neither establishes official current odds. The community update log notes race additions and changes and directs players to Discord for the full live log.
