What Pokémon’s February 2026 announcements actually said
Pokémon’s official Pokémon Day 2026 roundup, published February 27, 2026, covers rereleases of Pokémon FireRed Version and Pokémon LeafGreen Version, and says Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness is coming to Nintendo GameCube – Nintendo Classics. That is not proof that no future announcement will be made. Pokémon Support says public information about upcoming Pokémon titles will be posted at pokemon.com. Until such an announcement appears, a February 2027 release date, platform, format, preorder, or new edition for these games is unverified. Where the February 2027 date comes from
Pokémon’s official Pokémon Bank notice says the service will end on February 26, 2027 at 03:00 UTC. Nintendo of America gives the corresponding US Pacific time as Thursday, February 25, 2027 at 7:00 p.m. This is a service shutdown date, not a release date for HeartGold or SoulSilver. Pokémon says Bank-to-Pokémon HOME transfers stop when Bank service ends. If you have Pokémon stored in Bank that you want to keep in HOME, move them before the stated deadline; consult the official notices for the applicable instructions.
What the original games are
Pokémon HeartGold Version and Pokémon SoulSilver Version are Nintendo DS and Nintendo DSi games, not confirmed new releases for a current platform. Pokémon’s official title page describes updated graphics and sound, touch-screen features used alongside button controls, and the included Pokéwalker accessory. The substantiated option is to play an original Nintendo DS game card on compatible DS or DSi hardware. If shopping for a used copy, check which version you want, the cartridge’s authenticity and condition, its region and language, whether the Pokéwalker is included if that matters to you, and whether you already have compatible hardware. These are checks for original-game listings, not evidence of a 2027 edition.
