A 2025 datamine report claimed files for Mega Zeraora, Mega Darkrai and Mega Heatran in Pokémon Legends: Z-A. Since then, The Pokémon Company has officially revealed Mega Zeraora for the paid Mega Dimension DLC. Mega Darkrai and Mega Heatran remain unconfirmed in the official sources reviewed here; files reported in a leak do not establish that either will be released or how players might obtain it.
What did the original leak claim?
VICE reported on 10 October 2025 that dataminer Kaphotics had found game files for Mega Zeraora, Mega Darkrai and Mega Heatran, along with an associated Mega Stone for each. The report said their method of acquisition was unknown. It floated DLC or in-game events as possibilities, not confirmed distribution plans. VICE’s original report is coverage of a datamine, not an announcement from The Pokémon Company.

Which leaked Mega Evolutions are confirmed?
Mega Zeraora: officially revealed for Mega Dimension
On 19 November 2025, The Pokémon Company introduced Mega Zeraora as a newly discovered Mega-Evolved Mythical Pokémon in Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Mega Dimension. Its official page says players should look for a way to encounter it while playing the DLC. The announcement confirms its inclusion in the expansion, but does not specify an encounter method. Mega Darkrai and Mega Heatran: not officially confirmed here
The official announcements cited here do not confirm Mega Darkrai or Mega Heatran. The reported files and Mega Stones are leak claims; they do not prove that these forms will be released, appear in Mega Dimension, or be obtainable through an event. VICE also published a separate, broader alleged DLC roster on 13 October 2025, while warning that the datamine could be incomplete. Treat that roster as unconfirmed too; VICE’s broader leak coverage is not an official content list.

What other Mega forms are officially confirmed for the DLC?
Mega Garchomp Z
A Pokémon Company press release dated 27 February 2026 confirms Mega Garchomp Z for Mega Dimension. It says the form is pure Dragon type, unlike regular Garchomp, and explains how to obtain Garchompite Z: defeat Mega Garchomp Z in a special hyperspace distortion. Access to that distortion requires the DLC, claiming the Mystery Gift and completing one or more hyperspace adventures. See the official Mega Garchomp Z announcement and encounter details.
Mega Raichu X and Mega Raichu Y
Nintendo’s Mega Dimension page also lists Mega Raichu X and Mega Raichu Y among the expansion’s new forms. Nintendo’s DLC announcement is a useful reference for confirmed content; the older leak lists are not a substitute for official reveals.

What do you need to play Mega Dimension?
Mega Dimension is paid downloadable content, separate from the base game. Nintendo says the expansion’s story content requires the full version of Pokémon Legends: Z-A and can only be played after completing the game’s main story. The story content became available on 10 December 2025, according to Nintendo’s announcement. Buying the base game alone does not include the expansion.
