Pokémon Legends: Z-A launched on October 16, 2025, so “before launch” is no longer current framing. Pre-release reporting said game information, including Pokédex details, had circulated online, but the available sources do not verify a complete final roster or support the claim that the game has 394 Pokémon. A database overview instead shows 234 Pokédex entries and 394 items—two separate categories.
Was the Pokémon Legends: Z-A Pokédex leaked?
GamesRadar+ reported before release that information about Pokémon Legends: Z-A, including Pokédex material, was circulating online as part of a large reported Nintendo data breach. That establishes that a leak was reported; it does not establish that every circulated detail was authentic, complete, or identical to the released game.

The report is useful context for why players searched for a leaked Pokédex, but it is not an official roster announcement. The available official release notice confirms the game and its release date, not a complete Pokémon count. Read GamesRadar+’s pre-release leak report.
Does Pokémon Legends: Z-A have 394 Pokémon?
The 394-Pokémon claim is not verified by the sources available here. Gamer Guides’ database overview lists 234 entries under “Pokédex” and 394 under “Items.” Those are counts for categories on that database page, not an official statement of the game’s final Pokédex size. The matching number is therefore not evidence that the game contains 394 Pokémon.

- Your journey will take you to all manner of sights in the streets arrayed around Prism Tower, including shops, restaurants, and places called wild zones—where Pokémon roam free.
- As you catch, train, and battle Pokémon, there will be plenty of people to meet too—like AZ, the enigmatic owner of Hotel Z.
There is no official Pokédex-total statistic in the cited official material. The sound conclusion is narrower: a Pokédex leak was reported, but the figure 394 should not be presented as a confirmed Pokémon count. See Gamer Guides’ Z-A database category overview.
When did Pokémon Legends: Z-A launch?
The Pokémon Company announced October 16, 2025, as the release date for Pokémon Legends: Z-A and its Nintendo Switch 2 Edition. The game has therefore already launched as of October 8, 2026. The exact “See All 394 Pokémon Before Launch” headline also appeared on a GeekChamp page dated January 4, 2026—after the release—so its pre-launch wording is outdated even aside from the unverified count.
