The physical Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Mega Dimension bundle is scheduled to release on Thursday, October 29, 2026. It puts the Switch 2 Edition and the Mega Dimension DLC on a single game card. It is a game bundle, not a Nintendo Switch 2 console bundle.
What the October bundle includes
The Pokémon Company announced that the physical bundle contains the same game content as buying the Switch 2 Edition and Mega Dimension separately. Both are on one game card, rather than the DLC being supplied only as a separate download code. The Pokémon Company’s September 30, 2026 announcement gives the bundle’s contents and release date.

Nintendo’s US product listing identifies it as a physical Nintendo Switch 2 product and lists the release date as October 29, 2026. The US listing also says the package includes an insert with a serial code for 100 Ultra Balls. The Pokémon Company says this code can be redeemed once, requires an internet connection and Nintendo Account, and does not require Nintendo Switch Online. The announcement says it has no expiration date, although future changes to network services could affect redemption. Check the terms for your region before buying. Nintendo’s US product listing
Is this the same as the Switch 2 console bundle?
No. This October 2026 product is a physical game bundle; it does not include a console. Nintendo of America announced a separate console offer in July 2025: a Nintendo Switch 2 system plus a digital download of Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition. That earlier offer launched October 16, 2025, had a US suggested retail price of $499.99, and was available in limited quantities while supplies lasted. Those details apply to the 2025 console bundle, not the 2026 physical game bundle. Nintendo of America’s 2025 announcement

If you are buying the game and DLC together

You can buy Mega Dimension separately; you do not need to repurchase the bundled game content. The DLC’s story becomes playable after you complete the main story. Nintendo Support’s DLC compatibility information
If you own the original Switch version
Nintendo Support says Mega Dimension is compatible with both the original Pokémon Legends: Z-A and the Switch 2 Edition on Switch or Switch 2, provided you have the corresponding base game. The Switch 2 Edition upgrade pack also requires an existing copy of the game. The October physical bundle is listed as a Nintendo Switch 2 product; do not treat its Switch 2 performance enhancements as features of the original Switch version.

What to know about performance, multiplayer and storage
Nintendo describes the Switch 2 Edition as offering improved performance, enhanced resolution and smoother frame rates. The game takes place in Lumiose City, with real-time battles and the Z-A Royale. Multiplayer battles support up to four players locally or online. Online play requires an internet connection, a Nintendo Account and a Nintendo Switch Online membership. Nintendo’s US product listing
Nintendo notes that DLC may require additional storage and lists microSD Express as the Switch 2 expansion format. A card is sold separately, but the listing does not say one is required to play the bundle. Consider extra storage only if you need it.
