Pokémon Pokopia launched worldwide on March 5, 2026, exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2. Depending on your time zone, the reported local unlock fell on March 4 or March 5. The launch has passed; the times below are historical conversions reported by VICE, not an official Nintendo unlock-time schedule.

Official release date and platform

Nintendo listed March 5, 2026 as Pokémon Pokopia’s release date and confirmed the game was out that day. It is exclusive to Nintendo Switch 2. Nintendo Australia announced the date and platform in November 2025, while Nintendo Canada’s March 5, 2026 launch post said “Out now.” Nintendo Canada’s launch-day announcement and Nintendo Australia’s release announcement confirm the date and system.

The calendar date is not the same as a single local clock time: when a worldwide launch is expressed in different time zones, it can fall on the prior evening in some locations. Nintendo’s official pages confirm the date, but do not provide a comparable all-region unlock-time table. The conversions below come from VICE’s launch-week report, which described them as based on an expected global-midnight Nintendo eShop pattern.

Reported Pokémon Pokopia unlock times by time zone

Region and time zone Reported local time Local date
North America — Pacific Time (PT) 9:00 p.m. March 4, 2026
North America — Eastern Time (ET) 12:00 a.m. (midnight) March 5, 2026
United Kingdom — Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) 5:00 a.m. March 5, 2026
Europe — Central European Time (CET) 6:00 a.m. March 5, 2026
Japan — Japan Standard Time (JST) 2:00 p.m. March 5, 2026

VICE’s March 2, 2026 report is the source for these regional conversions. They are not confirmed by an official Nintendo time-zone chart, so treat them as reported launch-week times rather than a Nintendo-published guarantee. The table covers the listed zones only; it does not establish a precise time for every location.

What Pokémon Pokopia is

Nintendo describes Pokémon Pokopia as a slow-paced life simulation in which you control a human-like Ditto, gather and craft materials, rebuild a world, and befriend Pokémon. Its day-and-night cycle follows real time. The game was planned by The Pokémon Company, GAME FREAK, and KOEI TECMO GAMES, according to the companies’ March 12, 2026 sales announcement.

Don’t confuse the launch with later dates

Nintendo Canada’s product listing describes a three-part paid Expansion Pass, with Part 2 scheduled for late 2026 and Part 3 for 2027. Those are expansion milestones, not the original game’s release date or unlock time; Nintendo says the full game is required for the DLC. The listing may be updated as expansion details change. See Nintendo Canada’s Pokémon Pokopia product listing.

Nintendo also scheduled a separate Hoppip in-game event from March 9 at 1:00 p.m. PT through March 24 at 12:59 p.m. PT in 2026. That event window began after the game launched and is not part of the release schedule. Nintendo Canada included it in its launch-day announcement.
