Highguard launched on January 26, 2026. Its commonly reported Steam/PC unlock time was 18:00 UTC—10:00 a.m. Pacific and 1:00 p.m. Eastern. Wildlight Entertainment scheduled its launch showcase for 10:00 a.m. PT / 1:00 p.m. ET that day. The game is no longer playable: Wildlight later announced that it would shut down the servers on March 12, 2026.
When did Highguard release?
Highguard released on Monday, January 26, 2026. Contemporary coverage most consistently reported 18:00 UTC as the Steam/PC unlock. The following regional times are conversions of that reported PC time, not confirmation that every platform launched simultaneously.

GameSpot reported the regional schedule while noting that Wildlight had not announced an exact release time and that it could not verify console timing (GameSpot). GamesRadar later reported that Steam went live at 18:00 UTC and console storefronts followed after the showcase (GamesRadar).
Did every platform launch at the same time?
No single simultaneous launch time across PC and consoles was established. The 18:00 UTC time is best treated as the reported Steam/PC unlock, rather than an official universal time. Contemporary reporting said console storefronts followed the showcase, but did not independently verify a precise time for each console. Highguard was described as a free-to-play digital game for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S; the release-time reports do not establish an exact console storefront schedule (GamesRadar).

What time was the Highguard launch showcase?
Wildlight announced the showcase for 10:00 a.m. PT / 1:00 p.m. ET on January 26, 2026. The studio said it would include a gameplay deep dive and year-one plans, describing it as “an in-depth look at Highguard with a full gameplay deep dive, year-one plans, and much more” (GameSpot). The showcase start was separately announced; it should not be confused with confirmation of a simultaneous console release.

No. In March 2026, Wildlight announced that it would permanently shut down Highguard on March 12, saying the studio had not built a sustainable player base to support the game long term. Wildlight also reported that more than 2 million players had entered the game since launch; that is the studio’s figure, not an independently audited total. Its announcement said servers would remain online until March 12 but did not specify the shutdown hour (Wildlight Entertainment).
