Remove all eight of a color to open its matching shrine and face the Treasure of Ruin inside. The lists below group every stake by shrine and give nearby landmarks and terrain clues; use the linked map guide when a landmark alone does not pinpoint the exact spot.
How to unlock the shrines
Complete the Academy History classes and befriend teacher Raifort to have the shrines added to your map, according to Serebii’s Treasures of Ruin guide. Collect all eight stakes for a shrine, then return to it to open the entrance and battle the legendary Pokémon within.
Each stake set is associated with one shrine and one Treasure of Ruin:
| Stake color | Shrine | Treasure of Ruin |
|---|---|---|
| Purple | Grasswither Shrine | Wo-Chien |
| Yellow | Icerend Shrine | Chien-Pao |
| Green | Groundblight Shrine | Ting-Lu |
| Blue | Firescourge Shrine | Chi-Yu |
Some stakes are easy to miss because they sit in caves, on cliffs or islands, or below a mountain ledge. The location clues here follow the named areas and landmarks in Nintendo Life’s location guide, which also includes map images. The descriptions are landmarks, not coordinates.
