Pokémon TCG: Mega Evolution—Ascended Heroes released on January 30, 2026. Its products arrived on different dates, and new cards from the set became tournament-legal on March 6 after distribution delays. The English set is reported to contain 295 cards, but the card examples below are not a complete checklist.
When did Ascended Heroes release?
The expansion launched on January 30, 2026, according to Pokémon’s official showcase and its Professor FAQ. That date refers to the expansion, not every product in its lineup: several boxes and collections followed in later waves. Availability can vary by region and retailer.
Tournament legality
Pokémon’s Professor FAQ, published February 11, 2026, says new cards from Ascended Heroes became legal for tournament play on March 6, 2026, following distribution delays to Elite Trainer Boxes and Booster Bundles. Reprints that were already legal could be played from January 30. Check the current tournament rules and card legality list before an event.
How many cards are in the set?
PokéBeach’s specialist guide, posted January 23, 2026, reports 295 cards in the English set: 217 in the main set and 78 secret rares. The guide describes that total as exceeding the English set-size record it attributes to Fusion Strike, at 284 cards. These totals and the record comparison are specialist reporting, not an official Pokémon announcement.

Which product should you choose?
The regular Elite Trainer Box is a clearly specified option if you want packs, a promo card, and gameplay accessories together. The Pokémon Center version has two N’s Zekrom promos and eleven packs, but is exclusive to that retailer. Erika and Larry collections include four packs and character-specific promos. A larger pack count alone does not establish better value: compare current local prices and choose based on whether you want packs, a particular promo, or accessories.
