The July 2025 Pokémon TCG Pocket expansion was Wisdom of Sea and Sky. The official release was set for July 29, 2025, at 11:00 p.m. PDT, which fell on July 30 in many time zones east of the Pacific. This article covers that release, the Johto theme behind it, and how to read the date correctly.
Release date and time zones
The Pokémon Company International announcement, Bring Deep Blue Power with Wisdom of Sea and Sky (published July 24, 2025), gives the release as July 29, 2025, at 11:00 p.m. PDT. The official Pokémon YouTube video for the set, Pokémon TCG Pocket: Wisdom of Sea and Sky | Coming July 30! (also published July 24, 2025), uses July 30 in its title and July 29 at 11:00 p.m. PDT in its description. Both describe the same moment.

Headlines that say July 30 are using the local calendar date for regions ahead of Pacific time. Converting the PDT timestamp with standard offsets gives the following local times on the release date:

These local times are arithmetic from the published PDT timestamp, not separate figures from Pokémon. If you play in a different region, check your device’s clock against the PDT time rather than relying on a date-only headline.

What the set contains
The announcement frames Wisdom of Sea and Sky as bringing Johto Pokémon and Trainers into Pokémon TCG Pocket. It names three features:
- Lugia and Ho-Oh, the set’s highlighted Legendary Pokémon.
- Chikorita, Cyndaquil, and Totodile, the Johto first-partner Pokémon.
The official material available for this topic names these Pokémon and the Johto theme, but it does not publish a full card-by-card checklist. Treat the five names above as the confirmed highlights, not as the complete contents of the expansion.

Finding the next expansion
The release details above are from the July 2025 announcement and video. They do not establish what has come after Wisdom of Sea and Sky. To find the current schedule, check two official places: the Pokémon Company International news posts and the official Pokémon YouTube channel. Each new expansion is announced with its own release timestamp, and the timestamp is the figure to use, because the video title and the date a headline reports may differ.
- Open the Pokémon Company International news section and locate the most recent expansion announcement.
- Read the release line for the PDT time and the calendar date.
- Convert that PDT time to your own time zone before you plan a login.
Check that the announcement is for Pokémon TCG Pocket, the mobile game, and not the physical Pokémon Trading Card Game, which uses a separate release calendar.
