Yes: Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness is available on Nintendo Switch 2 through Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack, where offered, and its partner Eevee can be shiny. The important distinction is that Shadow Pokémon in XD are shiny-locked; the starter-Eevee hunt is a separate case. The available sources confirm Eevee’s eligibility but do not establish exact odds or a Switch 2-specific reset method.

The game originally appeared on Nintendo GameCube in 2005. The regional dates differ: Nintendo UK lists November 18, 2005, while The Pokémon Company’s Japanese page gives August 4, 2005. Those are release dates for different regions, not contradictory dates for a single launch. Nintendo UK’s game page identifies the GameCube version and its Eevee-led story; the Japanese Pokémon page also identifies it as a GameCube RPG developed by Genius Sonority.
Switch 2 or original GameCube?
The current route is Nintendo Switch 2 access through the Expansion Pack, subject to regional availability. The original route is a physical GameCube game. The cited information does not establish current used-copy prices, stock, or a standalone purchase route for the Switch 2 version, so check the relevant local Nintendo service and retailer listings before choosing between them.

Can you get a shiny Eevee in Pokémon XD?
Yes. The partner Eevee at the start of the game is among the Pokémon that can be shiny, according to Smogon’s Pokémon XD mechanics guide. Do not confuse that with trying to catch a shiny Shadow Pokémon: in XD, Shadow Pokémon are shiny-locked. Smogon explains that if a Shadow Pokémon’s generated PID would make it shiny with the player’s IDs, the game rerolls it until it is not shiny.
Smogon also lists Poké Spot Pokémon, Duking trades, and the Johto starters received at Mt. Battle as shiny-eligible categories. That distinction matters: the Shadow status is what prevents shininess in those encounters, not a universal rule that every Pokémon in XD—including the starter Eevee—must be non-shiny.

What are the shiny odds, and how should you hunt?
The cited sources establish that starter Eevee is eligible, but they do not establish an exact shiny probability, a reliable number of resets, or an optimal procedure for the Switch 2 release. They also do not verify whether the current emulated version changes relevant behavior. Avoid treating a particular odds figure or reset count as confirmed for this version.
If you choose to look for a shiny starter, the supported advice is limited: Eevee is eligible, and the Shadow Pokémon shiny lock does not apply to it. Any detailed reset instructions or numeric odds need version-specific confirmation before they can be presented as fact.
