Pokémon Emerald cheat references commonly list Rare Candy and Master Ball items, money, wild Pokémon modifiers, Walk Through Walls, and battle or experience effects. They do not establish a measured ranking of what players use most, and a code labeled “Emerald” is not automatically compatible with every device, region, or game revision.
Commonly sought Pokémon Emerald cheats
Historical and community-maintained code lists cover a broad range of effects. These are widely listed categories, not a ranked top ten or a measurement of player usage.

For examples of the categories and the device families attached to codes, see the GameFAQs GameShark code FAQ, GameHacking.org’s Pokémon Emerald entry, PokémonCoders’ Emerald cheats reference, and Leumas Tech’s code index. These references establish what is listed, not how often a code is used or whether every entry works on a particular setup.
GameShark, Action Replay, and CodeBreaker are not interchangeable labels
Cheat codes are made for particular devices or code formats. The references distinguish GameShark, Action Replay, CodeBreaker, and other formats; a code intended for one family may not work when entered as another. Some entries also require a master code before the effect code, or a button combination to activate it.

Check the code’s stated device family and setup notes before entering it. Do not remove line breaks or combine lines unless the reference explicitly instructs you to do so. PokémonCoders warns that a wrong cheat type or missing master code can cause a code to fail; that is a setup caveat, not evidence of a particular failure rate.
Match the code to your Emerald release
Region and revision matter. GameHacking.org identifies an English USA/Europe game family and lists serial identifiers; code references may organize entries by region and device family. A code that works for one release is not thereby verified for another.
Rank #2
Before use, compare the game’s region and, when available, its serial or revision with the code listing. If the reference does not identify a compatible version, treat compatibility as unknown rather than assuming that any English copy of Emerald will work.
Use cheats cautiously and protect your save
Codes that change inventory, encounters, the Pokédex, badges, or progression can affect persistent game state. A code list does not establish that every entry is safe or reversible, and community indexes may include entries explicitly marked unverified.
Rank #3
- Gameshark for Game Boy Advance SP ONLY
- Make a separate backup of your save before experimenting, particularly before using a code that changes persistent game data.
- Enter only codes for the matching game region/revision and device family, including any required master code or activation instructions.
- Enable only the code needed for the intended effect. Avoid stacking unrelated codes while troubleshooting.
- After the intended change, disable the code and check the save. If the result is unexpected, stop using that code and restore the backup rather than continuing with altered data.
The references are community or editorial code lists, not official Nintendo compatibility guidance. No code should be treated as universal or physically tested on your setup unless the specific combination of game, device, and code has been verified.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Playing on original hardware
Pokémon Emerald is a Game Boy Advance game, so a Game Boy Advance GameShark or compatible Action Replay is relevant to readers using original hardware. Confirm the exact device model’s compatibility with your game and check current inventory and listing authenticity before buying; compatibility and availability are not established by the code references.
