It is not a new GPU tier or architecture, but a character-themed version of the existing Hellhound RX 9070 XT, adding Reva artwork, blue lighting, collector accessories and an optional white backplate cover.
What is the Hellhound Reva Edition?
The Reva Edition is PowerColor’s first character-driven graphics-card design. Its listed product identifier is RX9070XT 16G-L/OC/REVA. PowerColor and launch coverage describe Reva as a futuristic, cat-eared character with science-fiction styling; that lore is part of the product’s branding rather than a technical feature.

Underneath the artwork, the card follows the Hellhound RX 9070 XT platform. Buyers should therefore view it as a themed special edition aimed at collectors and distinctive PC builds, not as a faster replacement for the standard Hellhound.

What changes compared with the regular Hellhound?
- Reva-themed front shroud and metal backplate artwork.
- Blue character-themed lighting instead of conventional multicolor RGB.
- A Reva sticker set, character booklet, mouse pad, acrylic figure and other themed accessories, subject to regional package variation.
- An optional white backplate cover for a different visual finish.
The underlying specification remains broadly Hellhound-class: a triple-fan cooler, six heatpipes, a direct-contact nickel-plated copper base, Honeywell PTM7950 phase-change thermal material, dual BIOS and Hellhound-style power delivery.

Specifications and clock speeds
| Specification | Reva/Hellhound figure |
|---|---|
| GPU | AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT |
| Stream processors | 4,096 |
| Memory | 16GB GDDR6 at 20Gbps |
| Memory bus | 256-bit |
| Interface | PCIe 5.0 x16 |
| Silent BIOS boost | Up to 2,970MHz |
| OC BIOS boost | Up to 3,010MHz |
| Power connectors | 2 × 8-pin PCIe |
| Power delivery | 10+1 GPU phases and dedicated 3+2 memory power supply |
PowerColor lists up to 2,460MHz game and 3,010MHz boost clocks in OC mode, compared with up to 2,400MHz game and 2,970MHz boost in Standard/Silent mode. The 3,010MHz figure is a maximum boost specification, not a guaranteed sustained clock. Actual frequency depends on workload, temperature, BIOS mode and power limits.
For comparison, AMD’s reference RX 9070 XT specification lists a boost frequency of up to 2,970MHz, 304W typical board power and a 750W minimum power-supply recommendation. See AMD’s official RX 9070 XT specifications and PowerColor’s standard Hellhound specifications.
Performance should be close to the standard Hellhound
There is no evidence in the announcement material of a materially different GPU, memory configuration or factory-clock profile. The Reva Edition should therefore perform broadly like the corresponding Hellhound RX 9070 XT, with the OC BIOS offering the higher listed maximum clock.
That expectation is not a substitute for a direct benchmark. No Reva-specific temperature, noise, power or gaming results are established by the announcement, so claims that it is faster, quieter or cooler than the regular Hellhound would be premature.
The backplate creates a cooling question
The Reva retains the general Hellhound 2.5-slot cooler and three 100mm fans, but ComputerBase reports that its decorative backplate has a substantially smaller rear airflow opening than the standard design. Installing the optional white cover may eliminate that opening entirely.
This could reduce rear airflow and potentially result in higher temperatures, higher fan speeds or both. It does not prove a specific thermal penalty; independent testing is needed. Buyers who prioritize measured acoustics and airflow should not automatically reuse standard Hellhound results for the Reva.
Power and compatibility
Plan around a quality 750W-or-better PSU as a baseline and provide two conventional 8-pin PCIe power connectors. If the power-supply manufacturer recommends separate cables, use separate cables rather than a single daisy-chained lead.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesBefore buying, check the final regional listing or manual for the Reva’s exact dimensions. The retrieved official material does not provide a reliable Reva-specific dimension table. The card is a large triple-fan design, so verify case length, 2.5-slot clearance, adjacent-slot space and airflow around the rear of the backplate. Also check whether the white cover affects your case’s clearance or ventilation.

Pricing evidence is historical and regional. TweakTown reported a planned global release positioned closer to $700 than AMD’s original $600 RX 9070 XT reference MSRP. ComputerBase reported German availability from €696, compared with €669 for the standard PowerColor Hellhound, on October 16, 2025.
Those figures describe launch-period positioning, not the current price or stock status in every market. A German listing does not establish availability in the United States or elsewhere, and bundle contents may vary by regional SKU. Check the exact model suffix, RX9070XT 16G-L/OC/REVA, before ordering. See TweakTown’s announcement report and ComputerBase’s coverage for the dated launch figures.

Should you buy the Reva Edition?
Choose the Reva Edition if the character design, blue lighting and included collectibles justify paying more than the standard Hellhound. It makes the most sense for themed builds and collectors who want the Hellhound platform with a distinctive visual identity.
Choose the regular Hellhound if you want the best value, do not care about Reva branding, or prefer its more conventional rear backplate airflow design. A different RX 9070 XT may be better if it offers substantially lower pricing, quieter independently tested cooling, better local warranty support or dimensions that suit your case more comfortably.
The Reva’s premium buys presentation and accessories rather than a new level of gaming performance. Its closest comparison is therefore not a faster GPU, but the standard Hellhound at the same price and the alternatives available in your region.
