Project: Arcane Frontier is a 270-plus-mod, expert-level RPG pack for Minecraft 1.20.1 on Forge. For multiplayer, install the matching Project: Arcane Frontier Server Pack 0.1.2e rather than copying a client folder. The server archive is 1.2 GB, the cited Forge build is 47.4.10, and practical memory starting points are 6–8 GB for a client and about 8 GB or more for a dedicated server—provider guidance, not guarantees.
Godlike.Host offers modded Minecraft server hosting with one-click modpacks, a built-in mod installer and up to three free backups a day.

|---|---|---|
| Modpack | Project: Arcane Frontier 0.1.2e | Release listed by CurseForge in 2026 |
| Minecraft | 1.20.1 | Use this game version on both client and server |
| Mod loader | Forge | Fabric or NeoForge instances are not substitutes |
| Forge build | 47.4.10 | Reported for 0.1.2e by Modpacks.ch; verify the server log and launcher before players join |
| Server download | Project: Arcane Frontier Server Pack 0.1.2e | Official ZIP listed at 1.2 GB; uploaded June 20, 2026 |
| Mod count | 270+ | Official listing figure; it is not a RAM requirement |
Do not combine a newer client with 0.1.2e server files, or vice versa. Even a small release difference can change registries, recipes, tags and configuration expectations. Record the exact pack version in your server notes so every player installs the same build.

Client installation
Before you install
- Use a launcher that can create or import CurseForge Forge instances.
- Keep enough free disk space for the downloaded archive, extracted instance, Java files and temporary update files. The 1.2 GB server ZIP is a useful indication of the pack’s size, not the total client footprint.
- Close other memory-heavy applications while testing the first launch.
Install the instance
- Install your supported launcher and sign in with the Minecraft account that owns Java Edition.
- Search for Project: Arcane Frontier and choose release 0.1.2e. If you import a profile, confirm that it resolves to Minecraft 1.20.1 and Forge.
- Let the launcher download the complete profile. Do not remove “optional-looking” mods or replace configuration files before the first successful launch.
- Open the instance settings and allocate a sensible memory budget. Hosterfy’s player-side guidance is 6–8 GB; treat that as a starting recommendation, not an official minimum or a promise that every computer needs exactly that amount.
- Launch once with the default pack. Wait at the title screen, then create or join a test world. This first run creates caches and exposes missing Java, driver or mod errors before you troubleshoot a live server.
Client checks before multiplayer
- The title screen or log identifies Minecraft 1.20.1 and Forge.
- The launcher profile says 0.1.2e, not “latest” or an automatically updated alternative.
- The instance has its original configs and overrides.
- You can reach the main menu without a missing-mod or registry-mismatch message.
How to install Project: Arcane Frontier on a dedicated server
The clean path is the official Project: Arcane Frontier Server Pack 0.1.2e. It is a server-specific artifact, not merely a renamed client directory. The release ZIP is listed at 1.2 GB, so allow time for transfer and extraction.
1. Obtain the matching server pack
- Download the official server-pack ZIP for 0.1.2e from the project’s CurseForge files.
- Check the filename and release number before uploading. Do not use a client profile as a substitute.
- Keep a local copy of the untouched ZIP. It gives you a clean recovery source if a configuration edit or mod update breaks the installation.
2. Prepare the server directory
- Create an empty server directory on the host or machine that will run Minecraft.
- Extract the server pack into that directory, preserving its folder structure.
- Install the Forge server files required by the pack and use the Java runtime accepted by your launcher or host for Minecraft 1.20.1. No author-maintained Java-version matrix is published for this release, so confirm compatibility with the host’s current Forge guidance rather than assuming an unverified version.
3. Accept the EULA and generate files
- Start the Forge server once using the host’s supplied start control or script. The first run normally creates logs, configuration files and the EULA file.
- Open
eula.txt, read Mojang’s terms, and change the EULA setting toeula=trueonly if you agree to them. - Start the server again and allow world and configuration generation to finish. Do not interrupt the process while a large mod list is being indexed.
4. Verify the installation before inviting players
- Read the startup log and confirm Minecraft 1.20.1.
- Confirm Forge 47.4.10 for the 0.1.2e release, unless the official release files identify a different build.
- Check that the server reports the same pack release installed by every client.
- Connect with one test account from the matching client and inspect the first world for missing registries, recipe errors or immediate crashes.
- Stop the server cleanly and back up the generated world before changing configs, adding permissions or installing any extra mod.
Keep the server’s logs and the client’s latest log when diagnosing a failure. A complete error line and the first “Caused by” section are more useful than a screenshot of the final crash message.
Can I upload the client folder to a server?
Do not blindly upload the client folder. A client instance can contain launcher metadata, client-only mods, personal settings, caches and files that a dedicated server neither needs nor can load. Modpacks.ch specifically warns against treating a normal client directory as the server installation.
Use the official server pack instead. If your host offers an installer, confirm that it installs the exact 0.1.2e server files rather than copying whichever client profile is currently selected. A client folder is useful for identifying a configuration you intentionally want to reproduce, but it is not a reliable server artifact.
How much RAM does Project – Arcane Frontier need?
No official fixed RAM requirement is published. The pack’s 270-plus mods and 1.2 GB server archive show that it is a substantial installation, but neither file count nor compressed size converts directly into a memory number. Player count, view distance, world generation, entity activity, Java settings, CPU speed and storage latency all change the result.
| Use case | Published starting point | How to interpret it |
|---|---|---|
| Client | 6–8 GB | Hosterfy guidance for the player side; not a guaranteed requirement |
| Dedicated server baseline | 8 GB | CoalHost and WinterNode present 8 GB as a starting recommendation |
| Server for 2–4 players | 9 GB | Eternyx published figure; provider heuristic, not an author guarantee |
| Server for 5–10 players | 11 GB | Eternyx published figure; workload and settings still matter |
| Server for 10+ players | 13 GB | Eternyx published figure; test CPU, storage and chunk-generation load as well |
Allocate memory gradually rather than assigning every gigabyte on a shared machine. Leave enough RAM for the operating system, launcher, monitoring tools and file cache. If the server stalls during exploration, watch CPU saturation, disk wait and garbage-collection pauses alongside the heap size; adding RAM alone does not fix a CPU or storage bottleneck.
Signs your allocation is too small
- The process exits with an out-of-memory error.
- Startup repeatedly fails while loading mods or generating registries.
- Tick delays appear when new chunks generate, even with a small player count.
- Java spends long periods reclaiming memory and the server becomes unresponsive.
Signs the problem is elsewhere
- Memory remains available while one CPU core is continuously saturated.
- Lag occurs only during disk-heavy world saves or chunk generation.
- One area contains an unusually large entity or machine load.
- Clients have mismatched mods or configs and are repeatedly disconnecting.
Storage, capacity and cost planning
The 1.2 GB server ZIP is only the starting transfer. Extraction, generated libraries, logs, configuration files, backups and world growth all require additional disk capacity. Keep the untouched ZIP separately and reserve room for at least one restorable world backup before launch. A host advertising a large SSD quota is not necessarily allocating equivalent CPU or memory, so compare the full plan rather than storage alone.
There is no verified universal price for running this pack. Managed providers change plan limits, locations, promotions and recurring rates. Treat the published RAM figures as sizing clues, then check the current checkout price, included backup space, CPU allocation, upgrade fees and cancellation terms. A cheaper plan that cannot run the exact 0.1.2e server pack can cost more in migration time than a correctly sized plan.
Plan capacity from the intended workload, not a nominal player count. Exploration creates new chunks, and a group that begins with two players may later need the 5–10-player tier. Start with the smallest tested allocation that remains responsive, monitor during travel and combat, and upgrade RAM or CPU when measurements—not guesswork—show a limit.
Managed hosting versus self-hosting
A managed host can install a pack, expose a console and provide backups without requiring you to maintain a Linux or Windows service. Self-hosting gives you direct control over files, hardware and network policy but makes you responsible for Java, firewall rules, updates, backups and recovery.

| Question to ask a host | Why it matters for Arcane Frontier |
|---|---|
| Is 0.1.2e available exactly? | A generic “Arcane Frontier” button may point to another release. |
| Does the installer use the server pack? | Client-folder uploads can introduce client-only files and mismatches. |
| Can RAM and CPU be upgraded? | World generation and player count can increase after launch. |
| Are automated backups included? | A modded world is costly to rebuild after corruption or a bad update. |
| Where is the data center? | Distance affects latency, especially during combat and chunk loading. |
| Can you download logs and world files? | File access is essential for diagnosis and migration. |
| What is the current recurring price? | Plan limits and promotions change; check the checkout page before paying. |
| What support is included? | Clarify whether staff troubleshoot Forge startup or only the control panel. |
Published managed-host options
- Hosterfy describes one-click installation, adjustable RAM, CPU and SSD, and gives the 6–8 GB player-side guidance cited above.
- Kinetic Hosting advertises an installer that checks whether the modpack boots.
- BoxToPlay provisions a selected pack version during server creation.
- CoalHost and WinterNode use 8 GB as a starting recommendation in their published guidance.
- Eternyx publishes separate figures of 9 GB for 2–4 players, 11 GB for 5–10, and 13 GB for more than 10 players.
These are provider claims and heuristics, not performance guarantees. Confirm the available release, hardware allocation, backup policy and current price directly with the provider before ordering.
Safe update and rollback workflow
- Write down the running client version, server version, Minecraft version and Forge build.
- Stop the server cleanly and copy the world, configuration files and logs to a separate location.
- Keep the original 0.1.2e ZIP so you can recreate a known-good installation.
- Test any pack release, configuration edit or additional mod in a separate directory before applying it to the live world.
- Have every player update to the same release before reconnecting. Do not let a launcher silently select “latest.”
- If the test fails, restore the previous server files and world backup instead of repeatedly starting the damaged instance.
Because progression and registries can be interdependent, a successful boot is not the only test. Join with one client, inspect recipes and progression, generate a small amount of new terrain, then invite the rest of the group. Keep a dated change log so a later mismatch can be traced to one edit.
First-start checklist for a private server
- Install the exact 0.1.2e client and verify Minecraft 1.20.1 Forge.
- Download and retain the official 0.1.2e server ZIP.
- Extract it into a clean directory and install the required Forge server files.
- Start once, accept the EULA in
eula.txt, and start again. - Confirm the log shows 1.20.1, Forge 47.4.10 and the intended pack release.
- Connect with one matching client before opening access to the group.
- Set an appropriate view distance and simulation distance for the allocated hardware.
- Stop the server and create a restorable world backup.
- Share the address only after firewall, whitelist and operator permissions are configured.
- Keep a change log for every config edit or mod addition.
Troubleshooting common failures
The client reaches a missing-mod or registry-mismatch screen
Compare the client’s profile number, Minecraft version, Forge build, mods, configs and overrides with the server pack. Reinstall the untouched 0.1.2e client profile if files were removed or replaced. Do not solve a mismatch by downloading an unrelated “latest” version.
The server stops during startup
Read the first meaningful error in the server log, not only the final shutdown line. Confirm that the server directory came from the server pack, that Forge files are complete, that the EULA is accepted and that the Java runtime is supported by the host for this Minecraft release. Restore the clean ZIP if a recent edit caused the failure.
Players time out while new terrain loads
Test with one player and a shorter view distance, then compare CPU, memory and disk metrics. If the server remains CPU- or storage-bound while memory is available, increasing the heap will not remove the bottleneck. Pre-generating terrain may help in some environments, but make a backup first and allow the operation to finish without other players connected.

The world broke after adding a mod
Stop the server, preserve the current world and logs, and revert the last change. Restore the most recent known-good backup rather than repeatedly starting a damaged world. Only add mods that explicitly support Minecraft 1.20.1 Forge and that are compatible with the pack’s progression and registry set.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much RAM does Project – Arcane Frontier need?
There is no fixed official requirement. Use 6–8 GB as a client-side starting point, about 8 GB as a commonly published server baseline, and provider figures of 9 GB for 2–4 players, 11 GB for 5–10, or 13 GB for more than 10 as workload heuristics. Test your actual player count, view distance, chunk generation and entity load.
How do I install Project – Arcane Frontier on my server?
Download the official Project: Arcane Frontier Server Pack 0.1.2e, extract it into a clean directory, install the required Forge server files, start once, accept the EULA, and start again. Verify Minecraft 1.20.1, Forge 47.4.10 and the 0.1.2e release in the log before connecting a matching client.
Can I upload the client folder to a server?
No. A client folder can contain client-only mods, launcher metadata, caches and personal settings. Use the dedicated 0.1.2e server pack or a host installer that explicitly provisions that server artifact.
Best Value
Which Minecraft and Forge versions does release 0.1.2e use?
The release is for Minecraft 1.20.1 on Forge. Modpacks.ch reports Forge 47.4.10; confirm the exact build in the release files and startup log.
How large is the Arcane Frontier server download?
The official Project: Arcane Frontier Server Pack 0.1.2e ZIP is listed at 1.2 GB and was uploaded June 20, 2026. Extraction, libraries, worlds and backups require additional storage.
Is a managed host required?
No. Self-hosting is possible if you can maintain Forge, Java, networking, backups and updates. Managed hosts provide easier installation and controls, but compare exact version support, resources, backups, location, support and current recurring price.
Can I redistribute the pack to my players?
The author’s custom license forbids re-uploading the modpack. Send players to the official project and server-pack pages instead of mirroring or bundling the files.
The Bottom Line
For a reliable Project: Arcane Frontier server, match release 0.1.2e, Minecraft 1.20.1 and Forge, then use the official 1.2 GB server pack—not a copied client folder. Start around 8 GB of server memory, adjust only after observing real CPU, storage and player load, and keep restorable backups before every change. Managed hosting can simplify installation, but verify the exact release, hardware, support, backups and current price before ordering. Respect the license by linking to official downloads rather than redistributing the pack.
