No official announcement confirms that Project ETHOS is a Rockstar medieval game. Take-Two’s current product pipeline lists Project ETHOS under 2K, with its platform and release date still to be announced. It lists Grand Theft Auto VI separately under Rockstar Games. The medieval setting and Rockstar connection remain rumor, not established facts.
What Take-Two has officially announced
In its first-quarter fiscal 2027 product pipeline, Take-Two lists Project ETHOS under 2K, with platform and release date marked TBA. The same pipeline lists Grand Theft Auto VI under Rockstar Games, for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026. The labels in that listing do not identify Project ETHOS as a Rockstar title or describe it as a medieval game.

That is the clearest available answer to whether Project ETHOS is a Rockstar project: the official listing attributes it to 2K. The name alone is not evidence that it is a Rockstar codename or that it refers to another game.
How the Rockstar medieval-game rumor started
Trademark speculation
Reports in 2023 connected the name Project ETHOS to speculation about a medieval open-world game. Hobby Consolas described the trademark’s purpose as unknown and presented a possible connection to a rumored Rockstar project as one theory, alongside other possibilities. Its article drew on online discussion rather than an official announcement.

A later Games.ch report recounted a leaker’s claim and discussed Take-Two’s trademark registration. The report itself cautioned that the connection was unproven: the trademark could relate to another studio working with Take-Two, and there was no concrete evidence for a medieval setting.
Artwork was not confirmation
VGA4A reported on medieval fantasy artwork posted by Rockstar employee Jonathon Gregory Bick, but explicitly said the art did not confirm a Project ETHOS in development. The post, as reproduced in that coverage, warned that the account included medieval fantasy artwork; it did not identify the images as game assets. They should not be described as leaked Project ETHOS concept art.

Is Project ETHOS still in development?
The announced pipeline establishes that Take-Two currently lists a product called Project ETHOS under 2K, but it does not provide a release date or platform. It does not establish a Rockstar medieval game or reveal the development status of any such rumored project. A Reddit thread asking whether the game is still being made or has gone the way of Agent captures the question fans are asking, but community discussion is not evidence of a project’s status.
Because company pipelines can change, check Take-Two’s product listing for updates if reading this after its first-quarter fiscal 2027 release.

What fans can—and cannot—plan for
There are no confirmed editions, platforms, release date, or game details for a Rockstar medieval Project ETHOS. That means there is no basis for buying a console, accessory, guide, collectible, or edition specifically for it. Existing medieval games can be discussed as unrelated alternatives, but none should be presented as connected to Project ETHOS.
