Which games joined the PS Plus Game Catalog in August 2025?
Sony Interactive Entertainment announced nine games for the Game Catalog shared by Extra and Premium subscribers, plus two classic games for Premium. Sony said the listed titles would be playable from August 19, 2025, while noting that catalog lineups and individual release dates could vary by region. Sony’s August 13 announcement contains the lineup.

The two Resident Evil titles were the Premium-classics additions. Separately, Premium members received a Game Trial for Death Stranding 2: On the Beach on August 19, 2025. Sony described it as offering up to five hours; progress and trophies would carry over to the full game if purchased.

Sony’s announcement used the broad listing “Marvel’s Spider-Man” and then specified the edition by console: PS5 players were to get Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered, while PS4 players were to download Marvel’s Spider-Man: Game of the Year Edition. Sony also said base-game streaming was available in relevant markets, so streaming availability should not be assumed to be universal.

PlayStation’s US page for Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered currently lists PS5 and PC versions and says PS Plus Extra subscribers can access the PS5 game through the Game Catalog. Its US page for the Game of the Year Edition lists the PS4 version. Catalog access can change and may differ by country; the current US listing is not a guarantee of availability everywhere or indefinitely.
The Remastered page also lists accessibility options covering visuals, audio, subtitles and captions, controls, and gameplay. Check the game page for the specific options and equipment requirements relevant to your setup.

When were the August 2025 games scheduled to arrive?
Sony announced August 19, 2025 as the date the lineup would be playable. Adam Michel, Sony Interactive Entertainment’s Senior Director of Content Acquisition & Operations, wrote, “All titles will be available to play on August 19*.” The asterisk matters: Sony’s footnote says catalog lineups and individual release dates may differ by region. The announcement does not establish a single launch time or that every country received an identical catalog.

Was Spider-Man exclusive to PS Plus Premium?
No. The Spider-Man entry appeared in Sony’s “PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium | Game Catalog” section. Extra and Premium members were included; Premium was not required solely to access the catalog addition. Premium had separate August additions—the two original PlayStation classics and the Death Stranding 2 Game Trial.

Because this is a dated August 2025 announcement, use the current PlayStation store and catalog for present availability in your region rather than treating the old lineup as a current-month list.
