What “today” meant in the original report
HotHardware published the matching headline on October 29, 2024. It reported that PlayStation Direct pages for the PS5 Digital Edition 30th Anniversary Limited Edition Bundle and the 30th Anniversary DualSense controller said to check back that day from 9 AM PDT. Those were the specific listings identified in that report; it did not establish that every item in the collection would be restocked.
The report listed historical prices of $499.99 for the console bundle and $79.99 for the controller, and a November 21, 2024 release date. These figures describe the 2024 report, not current prices or availability. Read HotHardware’s October 29, 2024 report.
What was in Sony’s 30th Anniversary Collection
Sony announced the collection on September 19, 2024. Its gray styling drew on the original PlayStation’s design. The lineup included a PS5 Digital Edition bundle, a numbered PS5 Pro bundle, standalone DualSense and DualSense Edge controllers, and a PlayStation Portal Remote Player. Sony said 12,300 numbered PS5 Pro Console – 30th Anniversary Limited Edition Bundles would be available; that quantity applies to the PS5 Pro bundle, not the collection as a whole.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How to check for a current listing
- Open the official PlayStation store for your country or region. Search for the exact product name, such as “PlayStation 5 Digital Edition 30th Anniversary Limited Edition Bundle” or “DualSense Wireless Controller 30th Anniversary Limited Edition.” A general PS5 result does not confirm an anniversary-edition listing.
- Check the specific product page and its seller. Verify the edition and whether the page offers a purchase, preorder, or an out-of-stock notice. Availability in one region does not establish availability elsewhere.
- Use Sony’s direct-purchase registration only as general PS5 guidance. Sony’s U.S. page describes invitations for limited console stock: registration does not guarantee an invitation, and an invitation does not guarantee an order because the purchase window is limited and stock may run out. The page does not confirm that an anniversary edition is currently offered. Sony’s U.S. PS5 direct-purchase information.
The PlayStation Direct U.S. storefront result checked on October 8, 2026 did not establish that the anniversary bundle or controller was in stock. That is not proof that no stock exists anywhere; it means current availability needs to be confirmed on the relevant regional product page. No current restock time, inventory quantity, or item list is established here.
