The PS5 restock times in the June 3, 2021 tracker coverage were historical alerts, not a reliable schedule: TechTimes reported a Best Buy restock at 3:40 p.m. EDT and a Walmart restock at 3:00 p.m. EDT that day. Those times cannot tell you when either retailer will restock now.
What the June 3, 2021 tracker reported
TechTimes’ June 3, 2021 article said Best Buy’s restock had started at 3:40 p.m. EDT and Walmart’s at 3:00 p.m. EDT. These are reported event times from that date—not recurring drop times or a current restock calendar.
| Retailer | Reported event | What the report establishes |
|---|---|---|
| Best Buy | June 3, 2021, 3:40 p.m. EDT | The TechTimes article reported that the restock had started. It does not establish a recurring schedule. |
| Walmart | June 3, 2021, 3:00 p.m. EDT | The TechTimes article reported that the restock had started. It does not establish a recurring schedule. |
The same coverage pointed readers to retailer Twitter accounts and discussed stock trackers, alerts, a Sony Direct queue, bundles, signing up, and persistence. Those methods could help shoppers learn about listings, but they did not guarantee that a console would still be available when a shopper reached checkout.
Why the tracker times were not a dependable schedule
Even contemporaneous June 2021 coverage recorded exceptions. TechRadar’s restock reporting described Walmart drops often occurring on Thursdays around 3 p.m. EDT, but also noted a small overnight Digital Edition event and an expected drop that was skipped. Best Buy’s days and times changed during the period, too. A tracker’s prediction could therefore be delayed, skipped, or tied to only a small amount of inventory.

- Model Number CFI-2000
- Includes DualSense Wireless Controller, 1TB SSD, 2 Horizontal Stand Feet, HDMI Cable, AC power cord, USB cable, printed materials, ASTRO’s PLAYROOM (Pre-installed game)
- Vertical Stand sold seperately
That uncertainty matters when interpreting searches such as “When will the ps5 restock again?” and “when will new stocks arrive”. Those are phrases from user-submitted questions on Best Buy’s product Q&A, not official retailer promises or a published schedule. Best Buy’s product Q&A should not be treated as a restock announcement.
How Twitter restock alerts could help in 2021
Use alerts to find retailer listings
Restock accounts functioned as signals directing shoppers toward retailer listings; they were not the sellers and could not reserve a console. When an alert arrived, shoppers still had to check the retailer’s listing and complete that retailer’s purchase process. Tracker coverage advised using the US stores named in its alerts rather than buying from social-media users. TechRadar reproduced the warning, “Don’t buy from Twitter users – which are all scams,” in its June 11, 2021 coverage of Matt Swider’s tracker guidance. This is attributed tracker advice, not an official regulator statement.

Prepare for a fast checkout without assuming success
The 2021 buying guidance recommended setting up a retailer account and saving payment and delivery details ahead of a drop. Retailers could also differ in how they handled ordering and fulfillment, including pickup options. These steps could reduce avoidable checkout friction, but they could not overcome limited stock or guarantee an order.
Consider queues and bundles as options, not shortcuts
The June 2021 coverage also pointed shoppers toward the Sony Direct queue and bundles. A queue could control access to a purchase flow, while a bundle could make a listing available in a different configuration; neither meant every shopper would get a console. Compare the actual listing and fulfillment terms before ordering rather than assuming an alert guarantees a particular edition or package.

What the 2021 price references mean
TechRadar reproduced US prices of $399 for the PS5 Digital Edition and $499 for the PS5 Disc Edition in a June 3, 2021 alert. Those are historical prices from that coverage, not verified current prices. No current inventory, restock date, or price for Best Buy or Walmart is established by these dated reports; check each retailer’s live listing before making a purchase.
