The 30th Anniversary PS5 Pro preorder disappeared from the Spanish PlayStation store within minutes of its 10 a.m. local opening on September 26, 2024, according to Spanish outlet LOS40. That was one regional snapshot—not a worldwide sellout time. Sony used different preorder routes by market, and the regular PS5 Pro followed a separate schedule.
When PS5 Pro pre-orders opened
Sony announced two preorder dates in September 2024. On September 26, the 30th Anniversary PS5 Pro bundle was scheduled to go on sale through PlayStation Direct in supported regions, or through participating retailers where PlayStation Direct was unavailable. Sony named the U.S., U.K., France, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Spain, Portugal, Italy and Austria among its direct-sale regions. The announcement also set October 10 for standard PS5 Pro preorders at other participating retailers.

Those dates did not mean every product and country used the same checkout process. Sony’s Japanese announcement specified applications for the anniversary Pro through a PlayStation.com form beginning September 30, linked to a Sony account; it said a lottery would be held if applications exceeded planned units. Other Japanese collection products were set to open for preorder through local PlayStation retailers and online stores that day. The Japanese announcement therefore describes a distinct route, rather than a simultaneous direct-store launch.
What happened on September 26
For Spain, LOS40 reported that a queue had formed hours before the official PlayStation store opened at 10 a.m. local time. By 10:02 a.m., the anniversary consoles were no longer listed for sale, the outlet reported. It also recounted users describing errors and failed checkouts; those are reported customer experiences, not an independently verified count of completed or failed purchases. LOS40’s account supports the conclusion that Spain’s anniversary allocation appeared to vanish extremely quickly. It does not establish when stock ran out in any other country.

Sony did not publish a purchase count, buyer success rate or worldwide minute-by-minute stock record in the announcements cited here. The 10:02 observation applies to the Spanish store’s anniversary console listing; it is not evidence that the regular PS5 Pro sold out then, or that every regional allocation did.
The anniversary bundle and the standard PS5 Pro were different products
Sony said 12,300 PlayStation 5 Pro Console – 30th Anniversary Limited Edition Bundles would be available worldwide. Each console would carry an etched limited-edition number, which Sony said represented the month and date of the original PlayStation’s launch: December 3. The bundle used the original PlayStation-inspired color design and included more than the console itself.
- 30th Anniversary PS5 Pro bundle: a 2TB limited-edition console, matching DualSense and DualSense Edge controllers, a DualSense charging station, a vertical stand, collector items and a console cover for a disc drive. The disc drive was sold separately.
- Standard PS5 Pro: a 2TB SSD, one DualSense wireless controller and Astro’s Playroom pre-installed, according to Sony’s PS5 Pro announcement.
The standard PS5 Pro was announced for release on November 7, 2024. Sony announced November 21, 2024 as the release date for the 30th Anniversary Collection.

The Japanese anniversary price is specific to that market and should not be treated as a global price. Likewise, the standard PS5 Pro’s regional figures were launch-announcement prices, not current retail quotes.
How to read the first-day sellout report
The Spanish report captures a brief and striking moment in one country’s preorder morning, but it cannot answer how many people secured a console or how quickly stock ran out elsewhere. A contemporaneous Reddit post asked, “Anyone manage to bag the PS5 PRO 30th anniversary edition?” That is an example of individual user discussion, not a representative survey of buyers. For a wider picture, the available announcements and reporting establish the schedule, announced worldwide bundle quantity and a Spain-specific availability observation—not a global stock timeline.
