The TBC labels above reflect the catalog text captured for this article, not a guarantee that those games still have no date on October 8, 2026. Release information is volatile; use Sony’s catalog and the individual game’s store or publisher listing for the latest status. The Myst and Riven dates come from Cyan Worlds’ May 5, 2026 announcement, which described both remakes as supporting “both flatscreen (2D) and PS VR2 at launch.” That dual-mode detail applies to those titles, not to every PS VR2 game.

Sony’s February 2023 launch-era materials said more than 30 games would be available in the launch window and that more than 100 titles were then in development. Those are dated statements from 2023, not a current library count. See Sony’s PlayStation VR2 FAQ for that historical snapshot. PlayStation Blog’s June 24, 2025 roundup is another official source for announcements and updates, but it is not a complete register through 2026.
A community-maintained game index can help surface titles to check, but it should be treated as a discovery aid rather than final confirmation. For a particular game, confirm PS VR2 support on its PlayStation Store page or in an announcement from PlayStation, the developer, or the publisher. Store availability may vary by region and change over time.

How to check whether a game supports PS VR2
Not every PS5 game works in VR. Sony’s FAQ says prominent PS VR2 branding indicates support, but compatibility remains specific to each title. Before purchasing, check the game’s PlayStation Store listing or publisher information for PS VR2 support and confirm whether the VR mode is included in that edition.
- Open the game’s PlayStation Store listing for your region.
- Look for PS VR2 support or branding in the product details; do not assume that a PS5 listing alone means the game works in VR.
- Check the edition and mode details. Some releases offer both flat-screen and VR play, as announced for the Myst and Riven remakes; that is not a platform-wide rule.
- Confirm the current release date and regional availability on the listing or the publisher’s announcement, especially for games marked TBC in Sony’s catalog.
Sony describes PS VR2 games as digital purchases through PlayStation Store. That does not establish the physical-release status of every individual game, so check the specific title if you are looking for a disc edition.
What hardware you need
PS VR2 requires a PS5 or PS5 Digital Edition console, according to PlayStation Direct’s PS VR2 hardware page. The headset is only relevant if you do not already own compatible hardware; it is not a separate requirement for someone who already has PS VR2 and the required console.
