KRAFTON published the official PUBG: Black Budget closed-alpha teaser on December 10, 2025. It previewed a first-person extraction shooter set on a mysterious island caught in a time loop, and promoted a two-weekend PC test that ran December 12–14 and December 19–21, 2025, Pacific Standard Time. Those dates have passed, and PUBG STUDIOS announced on September 30, 2026, that development had ended.
The official PUBG: Black Budget teaser
KRAFTON’s video, PUBG: Black Budget I Closed Alpha Teaser, was published on December 10, 2025. It promoted the game’s closed alpha rather than a launch, and its advertised test weekends are historical.
The project was announced as a PC, first-person extraction shooter. Its premise centered on a mysterious island trapped in a time loop. That is the announced concept; the official materials cited here do not establish independent hands-on impressions of the gameplay.
When the closed alpha ran
The alpha took place over two weekends, with sessions beginning Friday and closing Sunday, in Pacific Standard Time. The announcement listed North America, Europe, and Asia as regions.

The dates appeared in the official teaser description and the December 8, 2025 alpha announcement. Both test periods have ended; the teaser is not an invitation to join an active test.
What the alpha was intended to test
PUBG STUDIOS said it would use the closed alpha to examine early-game systems, combat pacing, extraction balance, and player progression. Participants were allowed to stream, record, and share gameplay, according to the official announcement.

Historical PC requirements
The following specifications were published for the 2025 closed alpha. They describe that test only, not confirmed requirements for a released game.
- Operating system: Windows 10 minimum; Windows 11 recommended.
- Processor: Six-core Intel or AMD equivalent.
- Graphics: NVIDIA RTX 2060 or AMD equivalent, with 8 GB VRAM minimum.
- Memory: 16 GB RAM.
- DirectX: Version 12.
- Storage: 30 GB disk space.
- Network: Stable broadband connection.
Is PUBG: Black Budget still in development?
No. On September 30, 2026, PUBG STUDIOS announced that it had decided to end development after reviewing the project’s development status and future direction. The team wrote, “We have therefore made the difficult decision to end development of PUBG: Black Budget.” The update thanked alpha participants and said lessons from the project would inform future projects.
